They have an excellent have 1More Sonoflow Wireless Active Noise Cancellation with QuietMax and up to 70 hours of listening time. When charging these headphones you will be surprised at how quickly they get up to speed with 5 hours of listening time in just 5 minutes! There’s a lot more to unpack, so let’s get started!
So Much to Like:
These 1More headphones are an affordable choice but they also deliver a lot of benefits. We wouldn’t be out of line to suggest that they can keep pace with higher-priced headphones with noise cancellation.
As with all sound-canceling headphones, these are over the ear. The earcups are extremely comfortable and the headphone band is very adjustable to fit most head sizes. This means your ear is entirely encased within the headphones and isolated from outside sounds (more so when you activate the noise cancellation).
The headphones are lightweight, gold-able, and Bluetooth-enabled. They come in a nice hard-sided travel case. Speaking of which, when you travel the approx half-pound weight make this lightweight headphone a pleasure to wear during long listening sessions.
Inside the carton, you’ll find a box–a really nice hard-sided zippered carry case. That’s a real plus. There is also a USB-C charging cable,(*a USB power source is required and when charging Bluetooth is disabled). There is a special cable to use when Bluetooth is not available but a standard 3.5mm audio jack, is. Don’t lose this cable because it has a special 2.5mm audio plug on one end which is only available at photo distributors.
Sound Quality:
These 1More Sonoflow headphones deliver great sound for the price thanks to 1MORE’s trademark QuietMax™ Intelligent Noise Cancellation. For those who like techspeak, the SonoFlow’s sound is created by 1MORE’s use of a large 40mm dynamic driver. It has both a diamond-like carbon composite diaphragm and a soft, but thin, polyethylene terephthalate film that reduces the distortion caused by the powerful driver at lower frequencies.
1More says that their 5 ENC microphones help to extract voices and amplify them to the user on the other line while suppressing the ambient noise surrounding the wearer even on a windy day. We didn’t test the windy day. However, in our tests, we found that the audio on phone calls is acceptable but sometimes sounds like you are a bit far away as you would be on a speakerphone. The headphones have two audio modes: transparent, and boosted. If you’re listening to rock and roll or other electronic music you need to be in boosted mode as it adds a bit more treble and bass. The sound is well-balanced in the middle but not so much on the high and low ends.
The other mode is for orchestral or things where you want the headphones to be transparent. In other words, there is no coloration added by the headset eg. boosting on headphones. In this mode orchestral music sounded lovely. An app allows you access to 12 studio-grade EQ presets to personalize your sound
Good Noise Cancellation (when you need it):
One thing that really impressed us was the noise-canceling function. We could see lips moving, but couldn’t hear anything else. When you want the make peace with noise, this is a great way to do it. However, we suggest turning it off if you are out and about such as on a bicycle or crossing a street. Switch from quiet to being able to hear everything around you with the touch of a button on the earcup.
The SonoFlow noise canceling works well, especially for a headset under $100. They are comparable to many of the more expensive headphones. Note that noise canceling only compensates if you are actually listening to music, spoken words, or a phone call. They are not earmuffs!
Other Bells & Whistles:
We’ve already mentioned the nice travel case and the included cords. As with all sound-canceling headphones, these are over the ear. The earcups are especially comfortable. The headphone band is more adjustable than most to fit both small and larger head sizes.
We appreciate the design, with a limited number of buttons to deal with. There is a dedicated button for the noise canceling. Also one for on/off, and volume up and down (which is also used to go forward a track or go back a track and to connect or disconnect phone calls), and a power button which is also used for Bluetooth pairing.
The Music App from 1More:
Without the app, you will get good and balanced sound, tuned by 4-time GRAMMY® Award recipient, Luca Bignardi. However, everyone has an app to add more personalization and power to their products. these days. It’s annoying to have to add yet another app to your phone. However, when it comes to audio, an app is pretty much necessary. Therefore we liked the 1More Music app which can be downloaded for IOS or Android. When used with the 1More Music App the headphone sound profile is very controllable. Choose one of 12 studio-grade EQ presets to suit your music preferences.
