these lash boosters would have changed her life

my mom was beautiful but had skimpy eyelashes

I don’t quite know what happened to my mother’s eyelashes, but to get to the point, she barely had any. She penciled her brows in, but when she used mascara her lashes always looked thin and spiky.  If she’d known about the new, lash booting products on the market, it might have changed her life. Today, for those who just can’t get their lashes (and brows) to grow long and strong, there’s help in the form of serums and treatments and instant fixes.

The Advice Sisters have reviewed a number of these eyelash/eyebrow enhancing treatments over the years, but there’s always room for some additional recommendations.  Here are two that take some time and patience but yield more lasting results, and one that gives you a quicker fix that, like Cinderella’s pumpkin coach, will not last past makeup removal at night.

A few words of caution:  aside from mascaras and tints that coat your lashes to make them look longer and more intensely colored, the treatments for longer lashes and brows have ingredients that really do help boost the strength and beauty of your lashes (they are hair, after all).  But some (not the ones I am suggesting below) do require a doctor’s prescription and some have side effects.  Anything you put on or near your eye can cause ise issues for those who have skin allergies or eye issues,  so you might want to consult your doctor and be cautious before using these products.  And only mascara-type products work instantly. The other lash/brow treatments take time, and patience. You must be willing to apply them regularly and properly, then continue them with a maintenance plan. If you stop, those lush lashes may fade away.  Some (although none mentioned here) are pricey, so if you’re going to continue with them, make sure you have room in your budget. But with time and patience you should see good results. Start now and in a few months you’ll be batting those lashes and smoothing out those brows!

wink eyebrow and eyelash enhancer

wink eyebrow and eyelash enhancer

The Wink Natural Cosmetics Wink Eyelash and Eyebrow Enhancer ($39.00) gives you enough in a single  5 ml bottle is a 3 month’s supply for both lashes and brows (there is a subscription program for this product). While the claim is visible results at about 2 weeks and full results at between 8-12 weeks, your results might vary.  Eyebrows take a bit longer than eyelashes to show full results, especially on the outer corners. On the plus side, the product doesn’t have parabens. Sulfates, Pthalates, Hormones, Prostaglandins, Artificial Fragrances or Artificial Dyes.

Wink works by delivering EFAs (Essential Fatty Acids) to the eyelashes and eyebrows. Your body cannot produce these EFAs on its own, and Wink claims that most often, our diets won’t  fill the gap. The formulation’s Omega 3 and Omega 6s work by stimulating the hair follicle to leave the “resting” phase and enter the “active” phase. The EFAs also acts as a natural conditioner, strengthening lashes and brows to prevent further breakage.his hormone-free, hypoallergenic formula will give them a more lush, full appearance.

Ingredients:   Castor Oil, Emu Oil, Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Seed Oil, Aleurites moluccana (Kukui) Nut Oil, Argania Spinosa Kernal (Argan)Oil, Simmondsia Chinesis (Jojoba) Oil, Punica Granatum (Pomegranate Seed) Oil, Tocopherol, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower Oil)

I first spied Grande Lash MD.  at a BeautyPress event.  I like the idea that they have both a treatment and a mascara, for immediate and longer term lash-boosting benefits.  Their Outrageous Lash Boosting technology set includes one GrandeLASH-MD—a breakthrough lash enhancing serum which promotes longer, fuller, thicker looking lashes PLUS one GrandeMASCARA— a unique formula including SymPeptide 226EL to condition the lashes and deliver instant extreme volume & length. Apply the  GrandeLASH-MD serum to the base of your upper lash line in the evening before bedtime and hopefully, you should see results in 4-6 weeks.  The mascara coats your lashes and it conditions them as well for healthier lashes.

measurable difference lash extensions

Measurable Difference Lash Extensions $13.00

For an instant fix you can try Measurable Difference Lash Extensions by Chrislie for $13.00.  This is simple.  First you apply the mascara. then you apply the wand with fibers in it to thicken the lashes, then you apply another coat of mascara.  The claim is 300% Fuller Lashes Instantly | 98% Visually Longer in Seconds.  I don'[t know if I can quantify 300% fuller but you certainly can add intensity and thickness with this product, and you’ll get that result immediately. However, like Cinderella’s coach, your thick lashes will return to “skinny”when you remove the mascara at the end of the evening.  But honestly, it’s a quick solution that doesn’t call for much of an investment or effort. The mascara and fibers are boosted with a patented peptide complex that nourishes lashes called “RegenaLash™”  I couldn’t figure out quite what is in it, but the press literature claims its a combination of nourishing ingredients, clinically proven to increase fullness, creating plumper, fuller looking lashes and brows in just weeks.  If you’re going to use a mascara-based product like this one anyway, you might as well use one that seems to be relatively user-friendly, free of  harsh ingredients or chemicals that could cause a lot of irritation or redness.   Measurable Difference Lash Extensions are available in mass market retailers.
