The Airbolt Smart Travel Lock ($79) can be controlled from your phone with the free, download of the Airbot App.
You will get a notification if it is out of Bluetooth 4.0 connected range and when it’s back in range again.
What’s nice about this sturdy lock with die-cast zinc body, stainless steel rope, and LED lighting is that you can unlock it with the app or with a touch sequence of your choosing.
We haven’t tried all of these features of this smart lock, but we’ve found the basics easy to use and TSA-compliant so your suitcase will remain intact even if the TSA decides to open your luggage.
The Alert system when your baggage is out of Bluetooth range (10-65 meters) is a bit loud but at least you can hear it in the din of an airport.
If your bag really is lost, crowdsourced GPS technology allows you to track last known baggage location.
