Rahua, Rainforest Grown

 

At advicesisters.com we have reviewed a number of Rahua’s unique skincare skincare and liked them all. Rahua proudly proclaims “rainforest grown” on its products. They’re serious about it too. Rahua’s ingredients are rainforest grown in undisturbed virgin forest. They also must be harvested and prepared using indigenous people and their knowledgeable about the virgin forest environment. Rahua also helps these communities to grow and sustain these traditions, build economies, and empower the indigenous people.  It’s clean, cruelty-free, sustainable skincare full of exotic effective ingredients. 

 

 

Body Oil:

Oils have become so trendy. There’s an oil for every part of your body. Rahua Body Oil will not only nourish your skin but will make it glow-y as well. I love the woody spicy herbal Palo Santo fragrance. However, it is good for your hair as well as your skin. It can help to fortify weak, damaged hair and promotes scalp health.  However, this is also a body oil. Along with Palo Santo, there’s Morete Oil helps to give skin a nice glow. However, it is also full of vitamins A, C, and E, essential fatty acids, tocopherols, and carotenoids—especially beta-carotene. Guyausa Extract has double the antioxidants in green tea, which reduces free radical damage. It also has vitamin B3 (with niacin) to help balance the skin. There’s also organic vanilla which is a potent source of polyphenols to help slow down the effects of aging on hair and skin. The scent is herbal, and it smells nice on your body and in your hair. 

 

This Rahua oil is good for all skin types. But if your skin is dry it really helps it look better, and helps to quickly hydrate it.  It absorbs fast and won’t make your skin sticky. The spray bottle is glass and looks like a perfume bottle. It’s a nice touch.  However, the Rahua Shower Gel comes in a flip top plastic bottle, It’s really the only way to ensure that shards of glass don’t get into your bath or shower.

        Shower Gel:

Key ingredients in the Shower Gel include quinoa. you may be eating it, but this gluten-free grain can help to revitalize skin, promote healing and moisture retention, and reduces signs of fatigue. If you use this Shower Gel on your hair, the Rahua in it helps to nourish hair. *Rahua also has a collection of shampoos as well).  The organic hibiscus has tons of antioxidants and alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) to exfoliate, control oil production, and encourage fresher, younger, smoother skin. Organic vanilla adds to the herbal scent but the polyphenols in it help to slow skin and hair aging. And, there’s lavender, which helps to calm your mind and make you feel pampered. Get your day (or evening) going with positive energy and work on your inner self and your outer glow! 

 

Odor Eaters from Outlaw:

Months ago we posted a unique skincare story about things that make life better, and they included some clean beauty deodorants.  Now we have just received another set from the Outlaws:  Calamity Jane and Blazing Saddles. There are two more: Fire in the Hole and The Gambler which we didn’t get.

 

The Outlaws is a small company in Sparks, Nevada. The first thing I did was go to the Outlaws website. I love websites that are easy to navigate and show creativity. The Outlaws site is Western-centric,  really cute, lighthearted, and creative. It’s fun to read about the natural and cruelty-free products that are made in the USA. 

 

To find your products, The site asks “what’s your scent soundtrack?” which I thought was cute. The fragrance notes for each deodorant is explained. As I always say, scent doesn’t have a gender. If you like the way it smells on your skin, wear it. In my editor’s package, I received a bumper sticker that says: “Fight Dirty, Smell Clean.”  I might just put it somewhere–cute!

 

Blazing Saddles & Calamity Jane:

Blazing Saddles is your new scent if you love leather (and who doesn’t?). The main notes are warm leather, gunpowder, sagebrush, and sandalwood–cowboy through and through.  It’s so nice you might just find yourself sniffing the swivel-up stick–but don’t tell anyone but your horse! I would have included a photo of the deodorant, but the minute it arrived my husband whisked it away after sniffing it. I guess that’s a good thing!

Calamity Jane deodorant is a cinnamon-centric spicy warm scent rich in clove, sweet cinnamon, vanilla bean, spicy ginger, whiskey, and a hint of orange. I loved this one too. It’s definitely not gender-specific, but lighter than Blazing Saddles.  It is also full of nourishing vegan oils, but it has clove oil so if your pits are sensitive or you’ve just denuded them, it might not be your best bet. but it’s an homage to a splendid “badass” frontierswoman.

 

As the website says, the scent: “doesn’t smell like the actual Calamity Jane (who was known to drink until she passed out in the stable.)”  

 

|The Outlaws have a bunch of unique skincare products from beard oil to shower gel, soaps, and scents. I liked the soaps (see bar soaps in my photos): Home on the Range and Mountain Hideout. Home on the Range “smells of juicy blackberries, fresh laundry, and just-cut grass.” (more grass, less blackberry). Mountain Hideout smells like “pine trees, pine cones, campfire, and damp earth. BaseBlue, Night & Day…You Are The One!

 

The new Wet & Dry (Night & Day) Wipes from Baseblue Cosmetics reminds me of lyrics from that famous Cole Porter Song “Night and day..You are the one. Only you beneath the moon and under the sun….”

 

Over the holidays advicesisters.com was introduced to the unique skincare and beauty of Baseblue Cosmetics . We loved the adorably-boxed “cupcake” soap,  and air sponges for makeup application.  Now I am loving their Wet & Dry Wipes ($21/2o one-use wipes). These are packaged in a clever box that slides the logo from wet to dry to open the correct side of the box. They’re the perfect pick-me-up any time (pop one in your purse or pocket) and they’re great for travel. 

 

The Dry wipes are activated with water and are particularly good for sensitive skin. However, both wipes have glycerin as the starting ingredient.  They remove excess oil and gently exfoliate dead skin cells.  In case you don’t know, glycerine is naturally-antimicrobial glycerine and acts as a natural moisturizer. It can also help fight acne and even soothe sunburn. There are other ingredients include Betaine, an amino acid derived from coconut oil that helps moisturize along with hydrating cleansing castor oil.

 

By now you probably realized these wipes are cleansing and moisturizing. However, they also can remove excess oil and exfoliate dead skin cells. As multi-tasking, easy-toting, skin-loving products, these are great! 

 

The Amazing 10-Years Makeup Brush:

 

Also on our radar is a fabulous and unique Baseblue Cosmetics 10-Year Makeup Brush ($33) available in (our in Black Walnut) or a stunning Blackwood. It’s a little splurge that can do a lot for your beauty routine as well as becoming a talisman for 2021 as a better year. 

 

The inspiration was this Chinese proverb, “It takes ten years to grow a tree, but a hundred years to cultivate people.”

 

The bristles are soft and eco-friendly. They feel like a kiss on your skin. The shape is non-gender specific but the design is supposedly meant to raise your awareness of the cycle of life and to the environment around us.  The brush is nicely packaged for gifting. Use it for powders, for blending cream foundation, or for blush. Or simply keep it on display to remind you of the little things that are beautiful in life!

Unique Skincare From BeeSpa- SOS for Hands & Feet:

 

If you have dry itchy skin right now, you’re not alone. You probably moisturize your skin, but what about your hands and feet? It’s likey that constant  hand washing can leave your skin dry, even cracked.  However, if your feet are in boots or shoes all the time, that can also cause irritation.
