frizzy hair is not a good look!
Dare to air dry your hair! Keratin treatments are great. But sometimes I need to give my hair a break. When you live in a humid place (like Florida near the beach) I figured I couldn’t really air-dry my hair…or could I?! My first attempts without using the right products were a disaster (that is an old photo of me)! So I consulted some of my hair experts and tried some products to help me fearlessly air-dry from Keratin Complex, Alterna, and ApHogee. Moreover, you can boost your style with a few accessories from BelleFixe and The Hair Edit!
Air Dry Your Hair With Alterna (Beachy Waves):

Paul Wintner, Global Education Manager for Alterna Haircare
Paul Wintner, Global Education Manager for Alterna Haircare told us: “I love braiding my clients’ hair with an airdry balm and when they take their hair down it leaves them with a natural-looking texture to their hair that is not frizzy. I will use either Alterrna’s My Hair. My Canvas. Easy Does It Air Dry Balm for normal to finer hair types or, for thicker, coarser hair, I recommend the Alterna CAVIAR Anti-Aging Smoothing Anti-Frizz Multi-styling Air Dry Balm.”

“Some of my favorite air-dry braids are the French braid or rope braid. I also love using a scarf to rope braid my clients’ hair on both sides with the scarf to create a softer wave pattern. *editors note to check out some BelleFixe hair accessories stories on advicesisters.com that can help control hair and make a fashion statement.” he added.

some of the luxe products I tried from Alterna
Alterna My Hair My Canvas:
Alterna Easy Does It:

I didn’t touch my hair after using Easy Does It, and it dried almost straight with a bit of texture–just what I wanted
The Alterna Easy Does It Air-Dry Balm is the bomb! I’m calling this product out specifically because just a bit of this balm not only reduces air-dry8ing time but enhances your natural texture without even trying. Formula with Prickly Pear Oil reduces air-drying time, controls unwanted frizz, and boosts gloss. Infused with Water Lily extract to help boost gloss, improve moisture retention and restore resilience to hair stressed from over-processing or environmental exposure. Formulated with Prickly Pear Oil, rich in antioxidants and omega fats to help restore and protect hair by locking in moisture and smoothing cuticle damage.
To test it out I washed my hair with my favorite Alterna Caviar Smoothing Anti-Frizz shampoo and conditioner Then I used some Easy Does it and combed it through my hair. I went to the store and my hair air-dried as you see in the photo. I didn’t even touch it besides running my hair through it once or twice. A friend couldn’t help touching my hair. “It’s so smooth and so soft!” she kept saying. Visit Alterna Website to see everything!
APhOGEE Keeps Curls Cute:
The actual meaning of Aphogee is “the highest point in the development of something; a climax or culmination.” It also can mean the point in the orbit of the moon or a satellite at which it is furthest from the earth. However, in this air-dry your hair story, ApHogee refers to a haircare company whose pH-balanced products are made in the USA. Their Curl Definer in the yellow tube with clear flip top is meant for those with curly hair, but for air-drying, it’s great for everyone.
Curl Definer is formulated with Quinoa protein and humectants, for control and bodybuilding with an anti-humidity formula. It’s got a light floral scent. If you like curls and waves, add a pea-sized amount to damp hair and scrunch (or wear a braid until it dries). I just added it to my damp towel-dried brushed-through hair, and it was really good at keeping the frizz from attacking!
Use Your Body Heat to Treat!
I became an instant fan of ApHogee’s Keratin & Green Tea Restructurizer. It “strengthens damaged hair, reduces frizz, and adds moisture.”
Although the product looks orange in the clear spray bottle, the powerhouse ingredient is from the antioxidant benefits of green tea. It helps reduce breakage and split ends even if you air dry your hair. Active ingredients bond into the hair shaft with natural body heat or heat from styling tools. Spritz some additional on between shampoos or during touch-up styling. In fact, it’s meant for use after every chemical treatment, and it also protects hair color! Visit the ApHogee Website.
Keratin Complex For Super Smoothness:

before and after a Keratin Complex Express Blowout treatment
Although at the time I am writing this story I hadn’t had a recent Keratin treatment. But my all-time favorite is the Express Blowout Treatment by Keratin Complex (read stories). I also love their hair-taming anti-frizz, smoothing products.

this is the travel size
One of my favorite Keratin Complex products is Keratin Obsessed (see product story), This is a compliment to a keratin treatment to keep hair shiny and sleek. Really it helps to keep hair super super straight and smooth after a keratin treatment when you blow-dry, not air-dry your hair.
Keratin Complex for Heat or Air Drying:
Two others that can really help are the Keratin Complex Strong Hold Gel and the Keratin Complex Styling Lotion. These feature lightweight conditioning formulas and long-lasting control, ideal for curl definition and shine. When the Strong Hold Gel dries, it’s even better than hair spray to keep “the frizzies” in place. I didn’t show it in the photo above, but the Keratin Complex KeraBalm 3-in-1 HairBalm also helps fight the frizzies when you blowdry your hair. Apple stem cell extract adds shine, and the lightweight, hydrating formula helps keep smooth, curly, and voluminous styles longer lasting. It works for everyone and everything!
There are no added parabens, sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) The products are all safe for color-treated and chemically-treated hair. For all the products and treatments, visit the Keratin Complex Website.
Add Flair to your Air-Dried Hair:

trendy, chic, easy, and fun plus affordable hair accessories from the Hair Edit
The Hair Edit is another hair-centric company I’ve just discovered. They say: “elevate your hair every day.” It’s easy with affordable accessories such as the ones in my photo. The Three pastel clips were sold out at press time, but the hairbands are so trendy! You can’t have enough of these. The hair edit website shows plenty of others.
Despite the fact that these are good quality, none of The Hair Edit accessories are over $12. Make your air-dried hair even better with some “hair jewelry.” The Hair Edit also has some cool-looking hair brushes. I hope to add more at another time.
