Introducing: M.A.C. Cosmetics MAC alice + olivia Collection: M.A.C. has collaborated with a number of designers to create one-of-a-kind, limited-edition makeup collections. But the latest is with Alice + Olivia. The line, created by Stacey Bendet, launched at Barneys back in 2002 and is sold in over 800 stores around the globe. Fans if this free-spirited, chic and cute clothing line include Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristen Stewart, Ashley Greene, Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow, Taylor Swift, and Mena Suvari, to name a few.
The M.A.C. Cosmetics Alice & Oliva Collection is, as described in the M.A.C. press literature, a: “frump-fighting, pro-pixie, anti-seriousness collection of colour that includes new takes on Dazzleglass Crème. So Rich So Pretty Nail Lacquer and Partylicious Pigments…hip + happy = alice + olivia for M·A·C.”
As you can see from the photo above of the collection, the colors are bright and fun: teal, purple, yellow, hot pink, with a cardboard sleeve overlay on the traditional, black, M.A.C. boxes that mirror a riot of those colors in a cool, graphic, print. There are three new shades of Dazzleglass Creme, three absolutely shimmering, colour-saturated Pigments, and Nail Lacquer in three “it” shades. “I can happily say that the collection embodies the very spirit of alice + olivia; effervescent, happy and fun!” says M·A·C Director of Makeup Artistry Gregory Arlt, who personally road tested the exclusive collection.
If It Sparkles: Frosty white plus a touch of pink *My favorite! A sparkledust that reminds me of what angel’s wings would look like. The shimmery white with pink is pretty on eyelids, lips, just about anywhere.
DAZZLEGLASS CREME:
If It’s Pink: Shimmering, hot to trot pink * WOW! It’s plastic fantastic, patent leather hot pink. Cool girls who want super-hot lips will love this bold, super shiny, shimmery color.
I.Want.Candy: Electric yellow with a sparkling edge *I wanted so much to love this edgy, amazing yellow, but on my lips it turned lime green and just sat there, looking ugly. You could use it to warm up a blue-based color and make it more golden, but on it’s own, unless you are Lady GaGa or at least a bit adventurous, you may find it a challenge to wear.
Morning After: Creamy, get-noticed turquoise *turquoise and teal are such “it” colors, and you can wear this clear, bright turquoise right into the Fall
So Rich So Pretty: A party-ready purple with a hint of frost *so metallic purple, so pretty! The color a kid’s bike dreams of being
Military: Black matte with silver suede *the deep pewter grey goes with everything, and is now a seasonless color choice for fingers and toes. The hint of sparkle adds a wink of fun
