Amore Pacific has beautifully packaged, effective and innovative skin care products. This K-Beauty company encompasses a number of brands that are trendy is the USA, and have been favorites in Asia for decades.
In Korean “LOVE” is pronounced “Sarang” 사랑을 위해 No matter how you say it, it is so easy to love Amore Pacific Brands.
History of Amore Pacific
In the 1940s, Yun Dok-Jeong began selling camellia oils as a hair treatment in the village of Kaesong Korea.
Today, the Amore Pacific Company is (according to Wikipedia) the 14th largest cosmetics company in the world, with 33 health, beauty, and personal care brands.
Asian women traditionally prize bright, clear, pure-looking skin protected from the sun’s damaging rays. and I was immediately attracted to the many products that feature Broad Spectrum SPF.
Cushion Compacts:
Amore Pacific, Laneige, IOPE, and Sulwhasoo all feature cushion compacts in a variety of sheer tints to suit different skin intensities.
The mirrored compacts are beautiful, but it’s the spongey “cushion” membrane on the inside that keeps the liquid-ey BB, CC and foundations in the compact until you depress the cushion with an included puff applicator to access the products.
A “Dynamic Fluid Capture System Technology” transforms liquid into a refined emulsion, applied with a non-absorbing Air Cell puff applicator. There is even a refill making your purchase an extra value!
The rest of the products arrive in attractive inner and outer containers that reflect the philosophy of the individual brands, in color and shape.
Differences Between Brands:
There is so much to say about Amore Pacific, as each brand is different:
Amore Pacific (Cell-Mimic Technology):
This upscale brand features Amorepacific Asian botanicals. It includes ingredients such as green tea, bamboo sap, and red ginseng in luxurious anti-aging formulas. The focus of this brand is on “cell-mimic technology” with formulas that penetrate deeply into your skin to help it renew and replenish itself.
Laneige (Hydration):
It’s no less luxurious. Laneige focuses on hydrating your skin. For example, the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask (which restores skin during sleep) is so popular, that one is sold every 11 seconds.
Sulwhasoo (Balanced Beauty):
Sulwhasoo is named for the “exquisite allure of Winter blossom springing forth in the snow.” It was created as a holistic beauty brand based on Asian medicinal herbs such as ginseng plus technology.
IOPE (Biotech & Botanicals):
Iope features biotech with plant botanicals and features hypo-allergenic products.
Product Reviews:
“Exceptional” is my one word for the Amore Pacific Future Response Age Defense Creme SPF 30 1.7 oz/ 50 ml $195.00
This jar has a downward-facing cap which is unusual. It also includes a beautifully curved spatula applicator that you might just actually use.
The super moisturizer with SPF 30 (Actives: Octinoxate 7%, Titanium Dioxide 4.15% and Zinc Oxide 9.8%).
There are anti-aging ingredients to combat dryness, lines & wrinkles, dullness & uneven texture and feels so luxe on your skin including Amore Pacific’s Future Response Complex™of green tea and pine mushroom. I’d categorize this as an elegant and effective skin cream good for all skin types, and made without parabens, sulfates or phthalates.
Amore Pacific Color Control Cushion Compact Broad Spectrum SPF 50 ($60)
One of my new favorite products, the Amore Pacific Color Control Cushion Compact Broad Spectrum SPF 50+ ($60) has 5 sheer color tints to suit different skin tones (two are quite deep).
The big plus in all the cushion compact skincare products is the packaging and the SPF 50+. Hydrating Bamboo Sap Formula replaces traditional water in oil base for deep moisturization and actives are Otinoxate 7%, Titanium Dioxide 4.15% and Zinc Oxide 9.8%.
In this version, along with SPF and antioxidant protection, there is a sheer wash of color that helps blur lines and brightens the look of your skin.
However, choosing colors can be s bit tricky as these are available in tone as well as color. The lightest is 102 Light (Pink).
I tried 104 Light/Medium (Pink) and 204 Light/Medium (Yellow) and there is also 106 Medium (Pink) and 208 Medium/Dark (Yellow). Both my choices were ok due to the sheer nature of the product, so I use them interchangeably.
IOPE UV Shield Sun Protector (spf 50, pa+++) (Approx $22.00)
This product is a sunblock without color. Actives are 9% Octorylene, Avobenzone 2.5%, 9% Homosalate, and 4.5% Octisalate.
The IOPE packaging is simple compared to the other brands, but it is a “biotech” brand featuring IOPE V.D. Booster™
This is a patented compound that strengthens the skin barrier, soothes damaged skin, protects skin from the sun, and enhances skin health.
I couldn’t find out exactly what’s in this but as a sunblock, it was great.
Laneige BB Cushion Pore Blur SPF 50+ ($38)
NEW! Vintage Single Extract Essence ($145) 4.05 fl. oz.

So why is this Vintage Single Extract Essence good for your skin?
Amore Pacific Future Response Age Defense Serum ($160.00)
This serum arrives in a frosted airless pump with a unique dispenser top. It has the same antioxidant Future Response Complex™ (green tea polysaccharides and pine mushroom) as the Future Response Age Defense Creme, Moreover, it also has an ” AB-12 Complex™_ which is a blend of 12 Asian botanicals and a “Green Tea Monocell Technology™” that enables the continuous release of these anti-aging ingredients.
