If there’s one lovely thing I’ve learned about Arbonne, other than their products are good-for-your-skin, and full of effective, anti-aging and other skin-loving ingredients, is that Arbonne really knows how to entice and delight with really exceptional packaging and gift-able items. For holiday 2012 they have gift sets for women, for men, and for both, to please every personality and budget. A whopping 23 different ones, in fact. But, for me, there are two true gift-able standouts: The Mandarin Pomegranate Spa Set and the Comet Cosmetics Collection. Before I go into specifics, I really want to add that the new Arbonne® products are botanically based with earth-friendly packaging. They are vegan-certified and formulated without animal products, animal by- products, gluten, parabens, formaldehyde-donating preservatives, PABA and the following petroleum-based ingredients: Benzene, Mineral Oil, Petrolatum, Phthalates and Toluene. Arbonne is also cruelty free and does not test any product on animals. Another nice plus is the Arbonne puts all the ingredients clearly listed for each product right on the box. All of this is happy news.
Cosmetics fans and those who crave glamour, are going to adore the Comet Cosmetics Collection #5287; $98.00 QV 98, including The Starry Starry Night Eye Shadow Palette and a Cosmic Kiss Lipstick. But if that isn’t enough, these are tucked into a truly stunning Comet Evening bag (it is much more beautiful in person than in the photo), itself, tucked into a black drawstring cloth bag to protect it, as you would any pricey purse. The hard sided baguette is literally encrusted with inky black silver and parti-colored glitter fabric that looks more glamorous than a winter sky filled with stars. It is lined with velvety black fabric inside. The outer frame is a slender band of shiny silver metal. And the handle is a “knuckle ring” design made wildly popular by the late Alexander McQueen, only this version has four elegant nugget-y and crystal studded rings, instead of the skulls on the McQueen version. For those who don’t want to hold a baguette clutch bag all night, there a very long, delicate (but sturdy) chain that neatly folds into the bag on hinges, ready to unearth and hang from your shoulder.
The evening bag alone would be worth the cost of this set, but then of course, there’s the makeup for which Arbonne is known. The Starry Starry Night Eye Shadow Palette also arrives boxed in an outer carton and then in a velvety black protective pouch. The matte black compact with interior mirror holds four large triangles or metallic beauty for eyes: Nightscape, Solar, Stardust and Meteorite: Essentially copper, white gold, mint green and deep blue. These shadows look very shimmery and mostly metallic applied with a brush, but if you really want more intensity all the way to “metal” just dampen the brush. If you’re not quite ready for that bold of an eye look, use the shadows as a metallic eye liner with a dampened liner brush. You also get a little color brochure showing you how to use the shadows in a number of different looks. Tip: for even more intensity, dampen the shadows with a wet brush.
The Cosmic Kiss Lipstick arrives in an outer carton, and the slim, matte black lipstick case is sleek enough to fit into any evening bag. A slimline stick of deep shimmery berry is the perfect compliment to a glamorous evening look! Wild Mango Butter, Vitamins A, C, and E, alpine skullcap, lauryl PCA and pomegranate extract make this an anti-aging, hydrating lip treat as well as a beautifier.
In short, I can’t think of a more drool worthy gift for a makeup lover.
For those who love scented bath and body products, there’s another gift within a gift in the Mandarin Pomegranate Spa Set #5290; $138.00 QV 138. The first thing you’ll notice about this giftable is that it comes in a red, hard sided domed “keepsake” box with a big, bright yellow button closure. Arbonne’s logo and a delicate little ink drawings of oranges and pomegranates decorate the entire box. Open the lid and find you’ll see a bright orange liner and, more importantly, four full sized bath and body products in the uplifting Mandarin Pomegranate Scent. The scent is slightly tart, almost like a cranberry fragrance, but the mandarin adds just a touch of fruitiness that makes it softer and more uplifting. Even men will enjoy the scent.
The Bubble Bath (12 fl. oz.) arrives in a frosted plastic flip top bottle with key ingredients of orange flower extract, apple fruit extract, raspberry fruit extract and aloe leaf juice. The Body Lotion (5.5 fl. oz.) is housed in a frosted plastic pump bottle and absorbs quickly. It features raspberry extract, pomegranate extract, orange flower extract and aloe vera. The Shower Gel (12 fl. oz.) in a frosted plastic flip top bottle also has hydrating orange flower, extract, raspberry extract, camellia oil and apple fruit extract. For those who like to luxuriate in a tub instead of a shower, there are Bath Salts 7 oz. nestled into a clear plastic jar with a white screw top. The pristine white crystals have key ingredients of pomegranate extract, chamomile extract, ylang-ylang extract;.
Make any night a relaxing spa night while you smooth, soothe and hydrate your skin. There’s enough product in these generously sized items to keep you relaxed and pampered for months.
