There are few bargains for $10.00 anymore, but I am excited to share one that’s a must-have for more reasons than one.
During the month of April, Aveda’s limited edition Light The Way 2009 Earth Month Candle (30th Anniversary Edition) is being sold for just $10.00. More importantly, the purchase of this lovely, soy wax candle supports Aveda’s global efforts to help make clean water a human right. If all the candles they produce are sold, it would raise $1,000,000 —-imagine!!! In any case, Aveda will donate 100% of the proceeds to its global Earth Month partner, Global Greengrants Fund.
The candle comes in a a 95% post-consumer recycled, green glass votive. It is packaged in a carton printed with soy ink on 55% post-consumer recycled paper. I love the idea that some of the carton is make with :make-readies” or sheets of carton stock recovered from previous Aveda products (now that’s a company that puts it’s actions with it’s words)!
The candle itself isn’t just a charity item, it’s one you will adore. It smell like an herb garden, thanks to EcoCert certified organic organic lavender, lavandin and clary sage, sourced from the tiny (40-person) village of Lesches-en-diois in the Rhone-Alpes region of France. With an up to 30 hour burn time, you’ll be able to enjoy the calming scent all month long and do something good for our planet.
How can you resist?
A basket of these would make an affordable, unique, and coveted Mother’s Day gift, so stock up because these are only around while supplies last.
