In celebration of 30 glamorous years, Badgley Mischka introduces their new signature fragrance for women: Badgley Mischka Eau de Parfum
Flashback 2009: Badgley Mischka Couture:
I’m thinking back to 2009 when the Advice Sisters reviewed the stunning Badgley Mischka Couture fragrance (Read Review) and later that same year, a fabulous Holiday Gift Set (Read Review).
The floriental fragrance arrives in a truly show-stopping solid gold bottle with an exaggerated, elongated, faceted, clear plastic cap (with an engraved, gold nameplate at the top). The sides of the bottle are “slit” like a designer gown to show a hint of leg.
This became one of my personal favorite fragrances for many years.
I also remember being at Badgley Mischka’s fashion shows. The gowns were stunning, the crowd, glittering. I felt so honored to be part of the glamorous experience!
2019 Badgley Mischka Eau De Parfum.
This year, celebrating 30 glamorous years, fashion duo designers Mark Badgley and James Mischka have designed an exciting new fragrance: Badgley Mischka Eau de Parfum, It’s their first in over a decade.
The fragrance was crafted by perfumer Richard Herpin from MANE and developed by TPR Holdings. Among many delicious fragrances that Herpin has developed are some of my favorites for Amouage and Private Blend Oud Wood for Tom Ford.
The designers were inspired by the magnolia trees that grew at their horse farm in Kentucky when creating the scent and of course a nod to the glamorous gowns they create. Glamour is first and foremost!
The Notes:
Top: Pear Blossom, Pink Pepper, Neroli, Iris
Mid: Magnolia, Jasmine Absolute, Tuberose, Peony, Jasmine Sambac, Osmanthus
Base: Creamy Sandalwood, Coconut Wood, Musk, Amber
This new fragrance has lots of florals, but it’s not sweet or cloying. In fact, upon dry-down, it’s light and almost powdery but the florals skim your skin like a silk scarf.
This is good news for everyone who wants a designer fragrance they can wear daytime and evening.
Interestingly, I tested this on several people as well as myself.
My skin tends to turn florals, especially white florals, into a rubbery and not so pretty scent. This fragrance surprised me and stayed true to the notes. I think it is an ultimate expression of glamorous femininity.
This new fragrance could be another new favorite!
The Bottle:
The soft violet color theme shows itself first in an ombre outer carton of what appears to be gemstones. The bottle inside is also violet-centric, a departure from the bright gold bottle of years’ past. While the Badgley Mischka Couture fragrance was presented in an angular bottle, Badgley Mischka Eau De Parfum is a feminine oval of soft plum glass, lightly faceted to add glamour and shine,
This new version won’t lack for golden glamour, however. The designers added gold around the sides of the bottle, encasing it in a “wrap” of gold.
The spray topper features a square “gem” in the same soft plum also ringed in gold. To me, it looks like a voluptuous figure more than just a perfume bottle.
The fragrance is available on Badgley Mischka’s website. $115 3.4 fl. oz. and fine department stores.
