Be Happy, Stylish and Warm with NEVE Design’s Allegra Cardigan

The original meaning of the term “allegra” is “happy.” And every romantic knows that the word “amo” means “love.”  and “NEVE” means “snow.”  All of these fittingly describe a really cute sweater by Neve Designs. The Allegra Amo Neve Full-Zip Cardigan is part of a collection featuring 80% cotton and 20% wool sweaters, vests, hats and scarves. The Amo collection including the Allegra Cardigan features an eye-catching design of bold letters and bright colors spelling out Amo Neve  on the front, back and sleeves. While all of the items are truly fun to wear, I selected the Allegra Amoneve Full-Zip Cardigan as a must-have holiday gift and Winter must-have, because it is so versatile. You can get this full-zip, mock turtleneck sweater in black with white graphics and a peach stripe along the zipper placket and top or you can get it in lake blue (light blue) with peach, purple, yellow and blue graphics.

The Allegra Full-Zip sweater is available in two styles with a USSA ski team logo patch on the left bottom side for $185 or without for $166. Like the Carla Ikat wrap cardigan ($145) that I reviewed back in September, this Allegra sweater works for town or country work or play. The craftsmanship is excellent, and all of the NEVE items I have seen delight with high performance in truly fashionable, luxurious pieces.  You get what you pay for with NEVE, and it’s worth a little extra!

 

The heavy duty zipper opens from both top and bottom so that you can change the look or simply cool yourself off. It also lets you change the look from a standard cardigan to a sexier, show some skin sweater. Ribbed cuffs can be worn straight or folded. While the sweater might not be appropriate for in a conservative atmosphere, it will make a stylish alternative to a jacket when you need to wear something polished but don’t want to look boring.

 

In addition, if you do active sports such as cross-country skiing this medium weight cotton cardigan will make a great layering piece that won’t weigh you down or be too bulky under an anorak or other such layer.

 

While it isn’t inexpensive, it packs a fashion punch and you’ll find yourself reaching for it for so many reasons, for at least three seasons of the year. It goes without saying that gifting someone with a sweater can be a risky choice, but any sweater from Neve including the Mara Amo Neve Full-Zip Hoodie, the Petra Amo Neve Vest, or the Mara hat and scarf, all with this graphic design and color schemes, will be a luxurious, welcome gift that will pay dividends for years to come.
