Every time I turn around someone I know, or someone else who knows someone else, is battling cancer. Although genetics and lifestyle might be involved, often cancer strike the young, the healthy and those who never were sick a day in their lives prior to the diagnoses. Cancer effects everyone, even if you’re not the one with a cancer diagnosis. Loved ones, friends, family, even employers, are impacted by people in their lives undergoing treatment. I know this firsthand: I was diagnoses with a very rare thyroid cancer in 1999 and while I felt bad enough about that. I knew that my friends and family were worried.
One of the organizations I now am associated with is as an Advocate for The American Committee of the Weizmann Institute of Science. While cancer isn’t their only focus, they are doing amazing research (I sometimes post their most exciting news on Twitter @advicesisters and Facebook: Alison Blackman; Advice Sisters they are really working hard to deal with the most pressing issues confronting us today, including cancer. I believe that Weizmann will find a miracle!

This scarf is one size fits everyone. It is very large but drape-y so you can wear it many different ways. I am showing just two obvious ones in the photos above. The modal fabric feel like super soft cotton or silk. Sheila Johnson, who designed this scarf, is a film producer, entrepreneur, and CEO of Salamander Hotels & Resorts. Clearly, a true creative!
The design is called: “Cerulean Sky.” When I first looked at it I thought it was the sun as in an eclipse, all in black, with a latticework of winding “vines” on a background of various shade of blue. But when I looked at the design in a photo on the left, I realized it was the sky itself that was the backdrop, with a delicate peragola or garden arbor in black metal reaching up to that sky! That’s a much more uplifting image, too.
