It looks like we’ll be wearing masks for a long time. That means at least half your face is hidden and with it, all of your expressions. Wearing hair accessories is a way to compensate and show our personality.
Bellefixe excited me with its glam and affordable hair jewelry when it launched last year. They’ve gone on to produce a number of drool-worthy hair jewelry collections.
However, if you’re at the gym, too much glam might be a bit much. So BelleFixe has just launched a sports-centric BELLESport line with headwraps, scrunchies, and hair elastics that are great for workouts and also for very casual wear. These nylon and spandex goodies also wick away sweat while making a fashion statement whether you’re lounging (or doing lunges).
In my photo above, clockwise from the top you’ll see the main pieces of the BelleSPORT collection. At 5″ wide the grey and black space-dye headwrap is the widest piece in the collection. It’s also reversible to basic black. A wide elastic ruched covered black fabric band in the back will keep it firmly in place on your head. But, I also think you can wear this over your forehead as a sweatband. Although not medically sanctioned, if you must wear a mask and you’re wearing this headwrap, it’s wide enough to pull down over your nose and mouth (in emergencies, only).
The black headwrap has a twist to add flair to a basic headwrap. This one is 2.5″ wide but it doesn’t have the elastic in the back so it kept slipping. A tip to keep this or any headband secure is simply to add some bobby pins (decorated ones from other BELLEfixe collections will add bling).
Scrunchies are Back:
Scrunchies are trending, again, BIG time. But this trio of scrunchies in hot pink and orange are smaller to add joy to a ponytail or bun. Ditto the half-dozen black and space-dye hair ties in ruched and braided styles. The Orange and Hot Pink twisted headwrap would look super-cute with a scrunchie-wrapped pony or bun. This bright headwrap is 2.4″ wide and can be worn as a sweatband. Bobby pins or clips will keep it secure if it doesn’t stay on your head (it didn’t, on mine).
The trio of solid black hairbands can be worn separately, as a duo or trio. Since they are so slim, they seem to stay put very well even though there’s no elastic to hold them. There are so many ways to wear these including with clips or bobby pins for accents, but also you could wrap one around a ponytail or bun, or all three for a wide look!
BelleSPORT by BelleFixe The Bottom Line:
Hair accents are a great way to capture your creativity. With this BelleSPORT collection that runs from $14 to $15 (even for the trios and half dozen hair ties) you really can mix and match while keeping hair and sweat away from your face. Use your imagination. Use other pieces you might have. Make your next trip to the gym, workout at home, or relaxing day stylish. With BelleSPORT you’re ready to go!
