When I was testing out some new and upscale hydration bottles from Avana (advicesisters.com review coming ) I learned that this company is one brand of the BlenderBottle company. The BlenderBottle is a unique “hydration” bottle that ha a little wire ball that whisks and blends while you shake the bottle. It’s a low-tech blender that requires no electricity, and really no effort.
BlenderBottle also has the brand “Whiskware” which essentially are BlenderBottles designed to do specific things, such as blend dressings, pancake batter, eggs, and more. It’s amazing what the stainless steel whisk ball inside one of these containers, can do. You may think you don’t need them, but once you try a few, you begin to realize how effective and fun they are!
For the most part, BlenderBottles look just like the kind of good quality water bottle you’d bring to the gym, or use in your car. However, the real difference for most of these BPA-free bottles is the stainless steel whisk ball. Also, the caps really hold the liquids in, without leaking and spilling but the top will come off entirely, for filling and cleaning.
Make a nutritional smoothie on the run simply by adding ingredients, the whisk ball, and closing the cover. Shake up and down until blended. You can add peanut butter, yogurt and other things that don’t blend well without an actual blender. For items that aren’t frozen or too thick, less than 30 seconds make the magic happen.
By the way, you can even do this with one hand, and let the kids participate in making their own healthy drinks and have fun doing it!
Of course, if you just want to drink water or another liquid from your BlenderBottle you certainly can. The tight fitting flip top lids and screw on lids make them the perfect companion for all your outdoor activities, or just to stay hydrated at work.
From Left to Right in my photo:
BlenderBottle Sport Mixers ($15):
These are available in a variety of sizes and prints (there are three in my photo) in 20 oz. and 28 oz. sizes. Each has a stainless steel blender ball in them. These have a textured grip (great for the gym or other sports) and is made of BPA-free Tritan that is top-rack dishwasher safe. A flip top makes it easy to swig when you want to. This bottle is meant for cold liquids only.
Classic BlenderBottle ($10):
These are so affordable, is available in a number of colors, and holds 20, 28 or 32 oz. of cold liquids. The StayOpen™ flip cap and adjustable carry loop gives you something to hold onto, and it’s also a place that you can attach keys while at the gym. The red one in our photo holds 32 oz. and has the shaker ball in it. I forgot to mention it, but you can even do a special order with your company or person imprint on BlenderBottles. What a fun gift!
Radian BlenderBottle ($25)
Blender Bottle Radian is such a classy looking bottle. I love the double-wall vacuum insulated BlenderBottle with a 26-ounce capacity that looks so cool on the outside, and actually does keep drinks cold for up to 24 hours. Twist-on cap with center-mounted spout seals with a quarter-turn and is backed by a leak-proof guarantee.
I’ll be honest: when I first received the Whiskware products I thought they were kind of unnecessary. That is, until I made scrambled eggs for breakfast the next morning,
The Egg Mixer ($10) on the far left in my photo above has the same stainless steel blender ball as the BlenderBottles, but this product lets you shake your way to well blended, fluffier eggs in literally, second, and the egg separator which you can see in the photo below, works perfectly.
Moving to the left in my photo are Snacking Containers ($10 set of 3) in large and small, and in teal or white. These clear, mini snack containers are stain- and odor-resistant and fit perfectly in a purse or backpack side pocket.
These don’t contain the steel blender ball but they’re not just totally portable with a carry handle top, they are portable portion control.
Three snack containers link to each other. Maybe this time you want cheese cubes, crackers with cubed fruit or a snack. In the larger containers maybe you’d pack yogurt or hummus, carrot sticks and some nuts or fruit.
he larger stable snack pack features 1/2 cup and 1 cup each container. The smaller containers are 1/4 1/2 and 2/3 cups.
Take salad toppings and add them onto your salad when you’re ready. When the kids complain that they’re hungry and you’re still far away from your destination pull out the snacks!
Fun for the entire family is the Batter Mixer bottle ($15) . This product lets you measure, mix and pour your pancakes or waffles with ease and without drips and mess. Add your ingredients, mix, and shake to blend with the included blender ball. Best of all, what you don’t use you can keep in your fridge, for next time. When you want to clean up the bottle just add soap and water, shake, and rinse!
The Dressing Container ($15) also has a blender ball whisk inside and measurements on the side printed in cups and milliliters. Add your ingredients and shake up a fresh dressing in seconds! The clear container with white top has a pour spout so you can bring it right to the table or our to your BBQ or picnic.
…And There’s an APP!
One added bonus is the Whiskware app for Android or IOS with tons of recipes to get your creative juices flowing. Not sure what to put in a protein shake or smoothie? The BlenderBottle Website also has some great recipe suggestions.
