Recently, I was invited to an intimate breakfast with The Body Shop International Makeup Artist, Chase Aston, at the Tribeca Grand Hotel in NYC. Chase was doing a whirlwind tour, demonstrating these new, Autumn trend products for Editors in NYC and the in Canada. On the table, was a colorful bunch of samples –we could hardly keep our hands off them! All of the products have soft shimmer (according to Chase, The Body Shop customer prefers shimmers to matte formulas). The entire range is enhanced with moisturizing Community Trade marula oil from Namibia, to help skin feel smooth, soft and supple. As you can see from the photo, there is a range of baked powder blushes, lip products, and eye shadows that can be worn light and fairly sheer, or wet, for more intense color. There are also a range of natural lipsticks and lip balms and some bronzers, plus eye liners and mascaras.
I loved the Italian Baked-to-last eye color $14.00. These eye catching rounds of color feature a light and dark color in one round compact. These are baked for a longer lasting finish, for rich coverage and better blendability. Use them dry or make them seriously intense, with water. My favorite is “Sage,” a soft turquise green with deep, blackened green and flecks of shimmer. There is also a silver/black, purple, blue, and copper. For the face, there’s Italian Baked-to-last Bronze ($24.00) in two tones: Shade 01: Golden Bronze for medium to dark coverage or the caramel hues of Shade 02: Warm Glow for light to medium coverage. Everyone also liked the two shades (pink tones and corals) of blush that, like the eye shadows, have a highighter color and a cheek color. You can use one, or both, or swipe your brush over the top of the entire thing to get a sheer glow with just a hint of tint.
Good makeup application needs careful blending. Chase is applying a shimmery, natural, summer bronzed look to this model’s face.
Here is the result: a gorgeous, glowing, Summer look!

It is a soft, stick of color in just one shade: #01: Carbon Black. If you can’t live without liner, this one will give you the smouldery look you want.
