A pretty fragrance can really change your mood for the better. Britney Spears newest, Fantasy in Bloom Britney Spears Eau de Toilette, can make you feel like Springtime has arrived…even if it’s only February so Springtime is still a fantasy!
Fantasy in Bloom Britney Spears Eau de Toilette from Elizabeth Arden is yet another in the Britney Spears “Fantasy” fragrance series, (advicesisters.com reviewed Britney Spears Fantasy Intimate Edition in 2015).
The Grammy Award-winning pop icon doesn’t stop evolving. She’s a survivor, and we love that about her.
“In Bloom” is ins a word, “pretty.” It’s packaged in an outer carton showing blonde Britney showing a lot of cleavage in a barely-there ballet-pink leotard with a chiffon overskirt surrounded by cherry trees in bloom. The rest of the box is done up in a profusion of white cherry blossoms on a light pink background.
But look at Britney’s photo. The smirking “pop tart” is now a woman who looks more seductive, rather than just overtly sexy.
The bottle is a toned-down version of the earlier, gaudier bottles in the Fantasy perfume collection.
Like the others, it’s a lovely round bottle, but instead of gaudy jewels, this one has tiny white cherry blossoms lightly accented with brushed gold metallic paint, and a textured collar of gold plastic “wrapped” like a rope around the neck of the bottle.
It’s obvious without taking one sniff that Fantasy in Bloom is going to be fruity and floral, and the focus is going to be cherry.
To quote the press literature, this fragrance is: “Dedicated to the spring-time, inspired by cherry orchards in bloom, a ‘captivating daydream’ and the warm, luminous rays of spring sun.”
The Notes:Top notes: berries, mandarin, cherry blossom The fragrance opens with a burst of luscious Berries and juicy Mandarin, mixed with the charm of Cherry Blossom. Heart: jasmine, osmanthus, tuberose At the center lies an irresistible floral bouquet of Osmanthus, Jasmine, and Tuberose – adding an alluring softness to the scent. Base: amber, sandalwood, vanilla Sandalwood and Amber are blended with the creamy richness of Vanilla to finish the fragrance with a warm, sensual touch. |
Impressions:
Britney loves flowers. The idea was to create something like: “the wonder of a secret garden, and that fresh feeling of smelling a gorgeous bouquet, a daydream in a bottle” (to quote Ms. Spears).
What you get immediately is an overwhelming scent of cherries, but this quickly dries down to reveal the florals in the heart, and eventually, a nicely balanced set of more sensual bottom notes.
The advicesisters.com’s wine columnist sniffed it and stated: this smells like Sangiovese wine, tastes –cherries…I like cherries!”
The fragrance is sophisticated enough for a woman, but it’s lighthearted, still a youthful vibe to appeal to younger women and Britney’s original audience of pre-teens, who are now way beyond that age group.
Fantasy in Bloom Britney Spears will be your go-to for date night. We think it will be that romantic fragrance for a wedding, or for right now when you wish Spring was already here.
