I love jewels and gems. There’s nothing that makes a girl feel prettier than wearing rubies, sapphires, emeralds and diamonds. But if the real things are out of your budget, you can at least smell like your favorite baubles, with a youth-oriented set of fragrances called: “C-thru” by Sarantis.
The new fragrances allow young women to express their individuality in their own special way, with a collection of 4 products: Eau De Toilette 75ml, Eau De Toilette 30ml, Deodorant Body Spray 100ml & Deodorant Natural Spray 75ml. The fragrances bring out your “inner gem.” The C-Thru Fragrance line includes Ruby, which evokes passion and confidence, Blue Opal, celebrating spiritual balance, and Purple Diamond, suggesting mysterious intrigue.
Although they are part of the Estee Lauder Company, C-Thru is budget-minded, available in mass market retailers such as Walmart and Target. They were created to help empower young women (the spokesperson, Lady Dawn Russell , fought cancer when she was young, and she’s become a motivational speaker). Fittingly, the scents are light and not overly complicated, but not “cheap” smelling, either. They’re mostly fruits and florals that you can easily mix together without smelling strange.
I love the packaging: clear plastic tubes covered in a cello overlay in the color of the gem, with faceted “gems” graphics. Inside the tube, there’s a small, round column of clear glass that has tinting in the color of the gem, topped by a silvery spray diffuser and another piece of glass covered by a plastic cap in the gem’s unique color. A nice touch are the clear, glass beads at the bottom of each bottle that add a unique and luxurious dimension to the presentation. The 1 fl. oz sprays are travel-friendly, and pretty on your dressing table, too. 1.0oz/30ml (SRP: $17) and 2.5oz/75ml (SRP: $25) Eau de Toilette sprays in Ruby, Blue Opal and Purple Diamond scents.
The C-thru web site is highly interactive, and definitely worth the visit. You can take a personality quiz to find out what gem you are (I was “Purple Diamond”–a fresh fruity floral ripe with plum, jasmine, and black currant, with a hint of “Ruby–a softer fruity/floral with melon, peaches and roses).
You can also letters to the brand spokesperson, Lady Russell, and enter the ‘You’re a Gem Contest” for a chance to win blue topaz earrings, a ruby necklace, or diamond and amethyst stackable rings.
This would make a fun first fragrance for a teen, but I’m willing to bet that their moms will be “borrowing” them as well!
