The Advice Sisters have long been fans of Korres. cosmetics. In fact, I first fell in love with Korres products when I was in staying at a posh hotel in Japan. But Korres is actually a Greek company that creates lovely hair, body and face care products with highly concentrated natural active ingredients. The company has it’s roots in the oldest homeopathic pharmacy in one of the most revered and ancient places on earth: Athens, Greece. Korres products are environmentally friendly. What’s NOT to love?! Here are just two of my latest faves for those who can’t get enough — of Korres!
Everyone wants lashes with volume, so if you’re seeking a new, luxurious and face-friendly mascara, try the new Korres Volcanic Minerals Volumizing Mascara $20.00 for 0.27 fl. oz. (8ml) that combines a (beyond) black pigment with a cotton extract to help condition lashes and make them long and exciting. The mascara claims to enhance lashes by up to 600%, without adding weight (because who needs heavy lashes?).
There is one color: “Obsidian Black, and if you have ever seen the beauty of obsidian, it’s deeper than deep. So the rich pigments blend with natural film formers and they create a unique mascara that is not just flexible, but thoroughly covers every single lash. As you can see from the photo to the left, Obsidian is also really shiny. Korres. Volcanic Minerals Volumizing Mascara also has a glossy, luminous finish.
The mascara goes on nicely and stays put, without any smudging or flakes, thanks to a tapered brush head with cross-hatch bristles that help avoid clumping. As someone who has short, thin, blonde lashes, the brush and the formula helped me get lashes that were PDL (pretty darn long) and dark, even though I was certainly not born with them. A few coats helped thicken, too.
For those who try to avoid chemicals, especially on the eyes and face, you will be happy to know that this mascara doesn’t have any: Sulfates, Synthetic Fragrances, Petrochemicals, Phthalates, GMOs, or Triclosan
Sephora is the exclusive beauty retailer for this product.
Whether you’re traveling, or simply enduring the heat and humidity of home, facial wipes can help you feel fresh and keep your skin clean. Pomegranates are not just delicious to eat, they have many beauty benefits because this beautiful fruit is packed with anti-oxidants. A great choice for a pampering wipe to take with you a packette of Pomegranate Cleansing Wipes by Korres. ($12.00/25 wipes). The soft-sided, re-sealable package has toss-away wipes good for all skin types. You can use one to freshen up, or to remove all your face and eye makeup.
Pomegranate extract, so I’m told, is not just nurturing to skin, it has pore-toning properties because it is rich in tannins and polyphenols that help to reduce the look of pores. The antioxidant benefits, of course, add an anti-aging plus. Vitamin E is another ingredient in these wipes, great also for moisturization and anti-oxidant protection. Korres has got you covered with good things. The wipes are oil-free and leave absolutely no residue. They have a very light scent that is part floral, part tart, but not at all intrusive. True, this cost a bit more than the drugstore brand, but they’re a little bit of pampering, a tiny splurge, and 25 wipes can last you a while, depending upon how often you freshen up. They’re a must for planes, trains, and car trips.
You can buy these wipes, other types of wipes, and all the goodies Korres has to offer, on the Korres web site: http://www.korresusa.com or Sephora.
