One of the perks of being an editor is the coveted invitation to Caravan Stylist Studio.
The studio is tucked at the top of a staircase at the entryway to The Gregory Hotel on 35th Street between 5th and 6th avenues in NYC.
Once inside this little haven of fashion and beauty, fashion, celebrity, and influencer industries.
The service range from hair and makeup touch-ups to amazing nail art by Beauty Director Valerie Star and also photo shoots and use as an event space.
You can’t just go, you have to be invited to enjoy the hair and makeup services Caravan Offers to celebrities, editors and creative influencers of various types.
For The Advice Sisters, it’s usually a public relations firm that offers a visit so we can sample the items they are sponsoring at Caravan.
During Fashion Week, Caravan is really busy, so I waited until after NYC Fashion Week ended to enjoy a Full Glam afternoon.
Full Glam
Guests to the Caravan Stylist Studio see the walls and counters piled high with beauty products from Caravan’s sponsors.
While you’ll never feel bludgeoned with sponsor messages, a really nice benefit is a personalized bag with some of these samples.
Sponsor Beauty Booty!
For my “Full Glam” service which included a blow-out and full makeup application, I also got a chance to try a really good no rinse Hydrogel Eye Mask developed and distributed by Musely )a green marketplace of beauty products) called Bye Bye Eye Bags.
This product pops under your eyes (wear overnight if you wish) and the serum on the mask removes puffiness, dark circles and helps smooth wrinkles thanks to grape seed oil, prickly pear seed oil and cucumber fruit extract (better than trying to balance cucumber slices on your eyes).
I also received an anti-aging Musely Hydrogel Face Mask featuring Green Tea, Niacinamide, and Pomegranate to help deal with fine lines and uneven skin tone which looks really good.
Valerie Star who is multi-talented when it comes to hair, makeup and nails also popped some OGX Hair Healing + Vitamin E Shampoo and conditioner samples in my bag.
I tried both, and my hair was soft and super-shiny, I’ll be investigating more OGX products now since they’re so affordable and lovely!
Valerie used an Olivia Garden hair products rush during my blow-out and gave me one to try at home.
The round Heat Pro ceramic + Ion brush even has as separator pick in the easy grip, rubberized handle. Upon using it with a blow dryer I noticed it even smelled slightly of tiare flower (maybe it was my imagination, but there is a nice floral scent to it).
Makeup-wise, I had arrived with a minimal amount, so Valerie added a bunch of products from MustaeV Cosmetics
I first discovered this brand during Spring/Summer 2016 Fashion Week, At Style 360 where I was fortunate to be backstage courtesy of Not Your Mother’s hair products.
My favorite product was and still is their 10 Lip Pro Palette which is slim enough to take anywhere and has 9 creamy intense colors plus a white lipstick which you can use to soften the bright reds, berries and browns. This will be a staple in my purse all season long!

Not in my photo were other items in my Caravan sample bag: Maidenform body shapers (great!), Life Way Kefir, Maui Moisture for hair, Simply Venom skincare. and Fake Bake.
While I don’t get to visit the Caravan Stylist Studio too often, I’m always delighted to receive an invitation and I’m looking forward to another one!
