When I think of Carolina Hererra, I see her always impeccably dressed, not a hair out of place, perfect lipstick, and wearing her signature, crisp, white cotton shirt. This designer’s name is synonymous with elegance and glamour. With the launch of her newest (limited edition) fragrance for Spring/Summer called “212 GLAM” this April, you’ll experience yet another vision of Carolina Hererra, glamour. This one is a girly vision in hot pink!
For 212 Glam, the fragrance, the descriptive word is “pink.” As with her other 212 fragrance, the presentation features two mini-sized spray bottles on either end of a tube, that looks a bit like a big capsule. But this fragrance is all in pink. It is housed in a large , hot pink, transparent, glass “ice cube” with an opaque metallic, cube as the cover. Pull it off to reveal the dual-ended, bullet-shaped flaconm in frosted hot pink. Pull the fragrance tube out of the “cube” and you’ll see the mini-sized, semi-round spray perfume bottle at each end. If you just hold the dual-ended tube without removing the fragrance bottles, it is reminiscent of a water globe. It feels secure, almost like a warm talisman, in your hand. Since this is a Spring/Summer fragrance, the hot pink and the tactile comfort, feels very appropriate.
Hard to Define
Glam 212 is hard to define. It is a youthful but still sophisticated take on a melange of sweets, flowers, fruits and woods, but it appears to be the kind of scent that wearers (and their happy, sniffing companions), will individualize. The top notes are sweet and playful: toffee and lollipop, the heart plays on romance with rose petals and cotton candy, and the bottom tempers the delectable scents with electric wood. I smelled the toffee and lollipop immediately,
Elements of it throughout the drydown, but my perfume aficionado friend smelled only the rose and woods, plus coffee notes (no coffee notes are in this scent). Despite the candied notes in the top and heart, it’s not sweet, unsophisticated, or too young. It’s surprisingly light and definitely wearable day or evening. In fact, it is “glam!” The fragrance has staying power, but with a light enough touch in the notes to be a wonderful, warm weather newbie for your fragrance wardrobe.
