Crazy for Caster Oil? If You Will Be, Soon!
Castor oil is a vegetable oil pressed from castor beans. It is a colorless or pale yellow liquid with a distinct taste and odor. It includes a mixture of triglycerides in which about 90% of fatty acids are ricinoleates. Ingested Castor oil is a laxative (need I say more?)! But since Castor oil is rich in ricinoleic acid it can be used to moisturize the skin and help to prevent or reduce the loss of water through the outer layer of the skin. Caster oil offers big beauty benefits for now and the new year (and Winter skin issues) in several ways. Here’s what you need to know:
A Beautiful Conditioning Oil:
grace & stella Caster Spell on Me Conditioning Oil ($13/ 3.4 fl. oz. is 100% caster oil. It’s one way to moisturize your skin and hair. Applying natural fats like castor oil to the hair on a regular basis helps lubricate the hair strands, increasing flexibility and decreasing the chance of breakage. Castor Oil is also famous for effective and dramatic eyelash growth. Castor oil also helps to promote healthy growth by fighting off bacteria and fungal growth. It also helps to improve localized blood flow and allows damaged skin cells to drop off.
Includes an eyelash spoolie for easy lash application.
I applied this caster oil to both my dry skin and my hair, and it quickly absorbed and felt silky and satisfying. Just 1-2 drops to brows, lashes, hair, face, and cuticles will help you get maximum hydration all Winter long. There is a mini mascara wand and liner brush included. Don’t forget to clean them to avoid infections. grace & stella suggest storing their Caster oil in a dark, cool place when not in use. I found grace & stella on Amazon.com but also visited the grace & stella website.
Multi-Tasking Caster Oil:
If you read the advicesisters.com stories regularly, you already know that I’ve tried tested, and reviewed thousands of products. But let’s face it, some products I’m going to really love more than others. When it comes to Baebody I have liked literally everything they have sent for review. Last summer advicesisters.com reviewed the Baebody Eye Gel which treats the delicate skin near your eye with a Peptide Complex and soothing Aloe. But now Baebody has a Castor Oil Eyelash Serum (SRP: $15.99/1 fl. oz.) that can be used on eyelashes, but also hair, eyebrows, and skin. It’s vegan, 100% pure Castor Oil.
The clear rectangular glass bottle with a white dropper tip dispenses the caster oil into the palm of your hand. Two mini mascara wands and three little eyeliner brushes are included in the box. However, you can also use your own clean (to avoid eye infections) eyeliner or eyebrow smooth brush. This oil is fairly viscous so you need just a little. This bottle will last a long time!
Baebody has lots of claims for its caster oil Eyelash Serum. It moisturizes and provides anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties to penetrate deep into hair follicles and restore damage. Supposedly, it also can help to banish pimples, scars, stretch marks, fine lines, and wrinkles, as well as strengthen nail growth (I can’t quantify this). What I can say is castor oil has definitely cast its spell on me. With regular use, you will look healthier head to toe. I found this on Amazon.com but of course, visit the Baebody Website too.
