Ever since Angelina Jolie burst onto the scene with her full lips, women have been coveting the look and frankly, overdoing it to extreme proportions with fillers. But if you want full lips that look good, not crazy, there is a product that hydrates, plumps and beautifies all in one. Recently I had the chance to try CITY Lips Collagen Lip Plumping Treatment. It’s a lip gloss/balm/treatment.plumper that basically purports to build collagen without fillers, and gives women fuller lips with lasting results. Even better, it doesn’t use irritants such as menthol, cayenne, or peppermint that cause swelling, but can also cause pain, at least to some. And those products only produce momentary results.

What Is City Lips?
CITY Lips has a proprietary collagen peptide formula(using Celadrol™ and Oligopeptide Technology*) that causes cells in the lips to produce more collagen, physically increasing the size of the lips. This Product Multi-Tasks:
The idea of a multi-tasking product with nice colors (there’s a classic Clear Advanced Collagen Lip Treatment, as well) is tempting. Apply it like lip gloss, and you’ll see a slight plump instantly. But it takes time for skincare to work. The actual treatment (Clear Advanced Collagen Lip Treatment) is the one you use before bedtime so the treatment can absorb while you sleep. The others are beautiful on your lips (great colors with a hint of vanilla scent, but since the others have a tint in them, I can’t imagine wearing them to sleep! I’ve been using two CITY Lips treatments (Sangria, a deep shimmery berry, and Tinsel Town, a sheer pink sparkle) as my in-purse lip glosses to help hydrate my lips on the go, but I don’t use them constantly, and not for 30 constant days (the amount of time I’d have to use them every day to see a real difference). But as hydrating, plumping glosses, they’re very good.
Does it Work?
But will CITY Lips plump your lips up by an average of the 3 millimeters claimed? I have included some of the before and after photos from the CITY Lips website to show you what might be the end result if you use it regularly and correctly. I caution that with all products, your results may differ. What I can tell you from my personal experience is that the moment I slicked on the product I did feel a bit of a tingle (expected) and saw a bit of fullness (the shimmery shades have light reflecting particles that boost the “pouty” effect). I’ve been using it for a while and my lips look smoother.
I don’t have lips that look as full as Angie’s and really, I don’t want or need that, but I love the City Lips colors and as long as I’m going to beautify, I might as well treat my lips as well.
