Calimojo color-changing flip flops are fun in the sun

 There are SO many flip flops for sale, it’s almost dizzying. They’re a summer fashion staple.

But sometimes you find a style that is so much fun, it’s worth adding it to your collection, even if you already own more than a dozen pairs!   That’s how I felt about CaliMojo’s color-changing flip flops ($28.00).

When the press release for CaliMojo color-changing flip flops came across my virtual desk (call it my email if you wish), I almost deleted it thinking: Oh gosh, do my readers really care about another pair of flip flops? But CaliMojo’s as I persued the lookbook and saw the cheerful,  tropical-inspired designs, I began to feel like I was getting ready for a vacation.  And I liked the added,  tiny rhinestone on the top of each flip flop for sparkle.  Then, I began to re-think….and I decided I had to share this company’s offerings with you.

The flip flops have a different design from your same-old, same-old flip flop. Instead of the traditional “V” shape, this one has a double band across the top.  My only complaint is that the actual “toe thong” part is a big short (at least it was for me) making a long walk in these, a bit uncomfortable.   

 Remember that thongs don’t really give you any true support, so they’re best worn when you’re not walking long distances, anyway.    I am assuming that the plastic might soften up a bit and stretch, with time (I’m writing this after wearing them for just a couple of days). The base of the thong is a traditional, spongey base.

Into the Light!

The minute you wear CaliMojos outside into any light, the PVC thong changes color. It will remind you that there are UV rays out there, even if you don’t really see them (and what you can’t see, can still harm your skin). The thongs are made of recyclable material that are PVC and Phthalate free.  For example, these seemingly clear thongs will turn color. I received white thongs with a clear strap on the top like these, and the strap immediately turned purple, outside.
