Live in Light and Color With Monster #Illuminessence Kits

Until now we’ve thought of Monster mostly as audio and cables. Now Monster Products has created an exciting series of color changing light kit products called “Illuminescence.”

Illuminessence offers packaged kits of easy to install color-changing lights that work literally right out of the box (with a battery-powered remote). They don’t need to sync to an app or work with a complicated hub system. Furthermore, these products are so affordable, you can instantly create color changing ambiance in every room. 

Why Monster?

Why is Monster getting into lighting when most of their brand is (or used to be) focused on audio?

The brilliant and innovative Head Monster Noel Lee insists that Illuminessence is a critical part of music experiences.

Whether it’s at a concert, a club, restaurant or a party, color changing lights are a major part of how we enjoy experiences these days.

Illuminescence is Easy!

 

Before now, adding color changing lighting required installation or the purchase and use of hub or complicated apps to run the lights.

The Monster Illuminessence kits simply screw lightbulbs into the socket of a lamp, or peel and stick lighting strips wherever you want them.

You can an easy to use remote  (2 AAA batteries not included)  with each kit, and it can run everything in your chosen kit. You can pair up to four Illuminescence remotes with up to 30 different LED bulbs or strips.

There are 5 kits to choose from and I tried a couple of them in various fixtures and the strip lighting in my bedroom.

Table and Torchiere Lights: 

I began my test of the Illuminessence color changing lights with a 2 LED Light Bulb Mood Light Kit that arrives with one remove and two LED bulbs. One energy-saving LED bulb went into a torchiere ((in my photo) and one in a table lamp.

One remote will operate one or both of them.

Using your fingertip you can make almost any color you want. Pick one color to go with your decor or change the mood in the room  (my favorite is calming purple) or cycle through all of them, or run pre-sets enjoy different light show patterns.

Overhead Fixtures:

In an overhead light fixture, I added two bulbs from the Large Mood LIghting Kit that includes 2 dimmable bulbs, a remote control, and  2x 6.5ft extra bright multicolour/white dimmable 60-LED strips  (I used the strips elsewhere). The strip lighting is USB powered but still uses the same handheld remote as the bulbs.

These are 60 Watt LED bulbs.  You control the brightness and you can control the speed of color changing cycle if you wish.  Unfortunately, in a dark room with a high ceiling, Everyday white light wasn’t really powerful enough to light the room.

Truthfully, I think Iluminessence is really meant to be accent lighting, not the main lighting in the room.  I

Strip LIghting:

The strip lighting is where you can really get creative and have a lot of fun with your decor. To test the strip lighting out I added one strip of strip lighting over the bed.

Strip lighting seems to be more subtle. but it’s accent lighting and not meant to entirely light the room.

All you need to do is decide where you want to add some color, pull the backing off the strip, and plug it in.

Choose one color or enjoy your own personal light show any time you want.  I mounted another strip along a shelf on my desk to boost creativity!
