I love hair styling tools, but keeping them all neat and organized can be a challenge. And, when you travel, it’s lovely to bring a full-sized hair dryer. But they’re bulky, and take up a lot of room in your bag. Conair’s got a seriously good solution: the You Reel 1875 Watt Tourmaline Ceramic 2-in-1 Styler model: 264XR (Srp. $34.99) has a hide-away cord, and the handle folds in, reducing it’s footprint on your counter and in your suitcase. The voltage is also dual-voltage, so you can take it with you outside of the United States without any nasty surprises upon arrival.
The shiny, blue color of this dryer makes it really beautiful, but its’ beauty is inside as well as out. The full sized dryer has a powerful high torque motor for fast drying, and it also has the three things you want and need in any new, high tech dryer: Tourmaline Ceramic Technology – natural ionic output helps fight frizz and bring out natural shine;Ionic Technology – smooths the cuticle layer, creating silky, shiny hair; and Ceramic Technology – less stress and heat damage on your hair promotes healthy, shiny locks.
There are three heat and 2 speed settings, plus a cool shot that actually gets cool in seconds. You get a concentrator nozzle and a diffuser for added volume or natural looking curls. Not every inexpensive dryer has this! The dryer works fast, with 1875 watts it dries your hair fast, but doesn’t fry it. This dryer has every bell and whistle you’d need, without the high price. It is sure to be your newest, best, “travel buddy.”
You can add some more “fun” and keep hair under control even more with one of Conair’s Impressions Cushion Brushes (srp. $7.99). A brush in a fun pattern is a nice way to pamper yourself, just a little more, every day. These bright, floral patterns remind me of mod brushes from the 1960’s and 1970’s, but they’re much more modern. They are so cute, aren’t they?! The brushes are good for all hair lengths and they are designed to gently detangle wet or dry hair. There is a flexible, cushion base and ball-tipped bristles that won’t snag or pull hair, to make things easier and more pleasant.
At 2.7 lbs it isn’t the lightest dryer I’ve ever tried, but it’ certainly nowhere near the heaviest, either. A nice, long cord (which retracts but it’s nice to have a long cord while moving the dryer, or yourself, around), and there’s a limited three-year warranty. There is an Instruction Booklet but it’s so intuitive you really don’t need it. The only issue I had in the beginning was getting the handle to fold down. It was stiff, and wouldn’t move, so I kept looking for some button that released it (I was afraid if I pushed down on the handle I might break it). But once you get the handle pushed down once or twice, it loosens up so it doesn’t require any force. And it really does save space!
The Conair You Reel 1875 Watt Tourmaline Ceramic 2-in-1 Styler and Conair Impressions Cushion Brushes are available nationwide at mass market and drug store retailers, as well as at www.conair.com
I much prefer the Karmin G3 Salon Pro Professional, it has healthy ceramic heat, 2000W motor, dual voltage, ionic technology and all the advanced features of a salon hair dryer. It leaves my hair shiny and silky soft 🙂
