The flowers and trees are blooming all over in bright and cheerful colors of white, pink, purple, red, blue, and yellow…it’s going to be a colorful Spring. Here are some fabulous, colorful cosmetics that will make your Spring 2015 looks creative and colorful, too!
A while back The Advice Sisters reviewed a fabulous blush compact from Le Metier de Beaute – Le Metier de Beaute Cheeky Chic Kaleidoscope ($95.00) . We loved it, but this luxe line has tons of individual colors that are simply gorgeous, as well. For example: Le Metier de Beaute Colour Core Stain Lipstick ($32.00) is a new concept in lip stains. It has a velvety texture that is moisturizing, but still full of vibrant color. Even better, Jojoba, lanolin and shea butter keep lips soft and moisturized. The creamy formula feels sensual, gorgeous, and it doesn’t fade, smudge or easily run into those tiny little lines. Yes, it lasts. It is available in 26 colors. My pick is “China Beach,” a bold red that will make lovers of red lipstick simply swoon because it loosk so moist, so sexy, and yet so naturally alluring.
For those who want intense color in a super shiny lip gloss that lasts, try out a Le Metier de Beaute Sheer Brilliance Lip Gloss ($32.00). The wanded gloss comes in 19 colors. We picked one that might be an unusual choice for Summer, but we love “La Belle.” It’s is described “cocoa” but on our lips, it looked liked a deep shiny plum that caught the light in all the right ways. Even better, if has vitamin E and the formula feels silky, never sticky. It’s a gloss so it won’t last as long as a lipstick, but it does last a long time. We love!!!
You can get these at You can get it at Neiman Marcus and online. For more information you can also visit the Le Metier de Beaute Web Site.
The descriptions for Rouge Bunny Rouge are quite fanciful: “Infused with the romanticism and fantastical fairy tales of Victoriana and regalness of Tsarism, Rouge Bunny Rouge exalts the lost art of story telling through the grace and fluidity of wordsmith voice and botanical illustration. In this manner the Enchanted Garden appears, an otherworld where fantastical characters enthral the imagination and animate the entire collection. Dive into a fantasy realm of playful sophistication with whispering dark intentions – it’s the fairy-tale but all grown-up.” But the products are things makeup collectors and fashionistas fantasize about! Here are two to try for Spring:

Mehron has been associated with the entertainment industry for more than 60 years. Mehron Melik founded Mehron Inc. in 1927 in a small New York City loft just off Broadway, in the heart of the theatre district. His staff of as many as 10 “Mehron Ladies” would fan out each evening to different theatres and offer cosmetic products and application advice to the entertainers before their performances. But now those high-performance products that were available to actors and actresses are also available to you.
Amazingly affordable is the Mehron L.I.P Color Cream ($7.95). The long-lasting lipstick is opaque and has a conditioning formula developed by Mehron. The packaging may be simple, but what this products does to create sexy lips is nearly priceless! I’m in love with “Big Apple,” a bold clear red that will be universally flattering and colors lips so well you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it (and the color really lasts). L.I.P. Cream is available in 16 individual shades or in 2 color palettes, Day and night. The colors are seriously intense–just a tiny bit colors deeply in an instant but looks moist and beautiful and feels silky and luxurious. You can dot these on with a fingertip but you really need to use a lip brush or suffer badly stained skin (carry wipes, if you’re not using a lip brush).

Julia Petit’s brazen approach to style and makeup artistry has transformed her into one of South America’s cult beauty icon and blogger. In a M•A•C collaboration, she brings the alluring women and fantastical urban landscape of São Paulo to life with sizzling sun-kissed hues. Although the collection launched in mid-March, it is still available, and The Advice Sisters know these colors make for a creative Spring. The lineup includes everything you see above. We’ve selected two pieces to showcase:
This M.A.C. Cosmetics Julie Petit Eye Shadow Duo ($22.00) is called “Moving Sand” featuring highly pigmented colors. The inky black is shot through with shimmer, the cool matte nude is a great lid color for every skin tone. Use it wet or dry. It lasts and lasts!
Lips deserve drama, too. $17.50 brings you “Petite Red” which is a rich, strawberry that’s less harsh than a bright red, but still bold enough to hold it’s own. It’s a perfect “lighten up” color for Spring and Summer for those who can’t live without a bold, red lip.
Another collection focusing on the eyes, from M.A.C. Cosmetics is Haute and Naughty. If you’ve never tried it before, now’s the time: M.A.C. Waterproof Haute & Naughty Lash Mascara Double Effect in Shockproof (Black) $22.00. We’re not quite sure why, but the “collar” of sparkling maroon glitter over a cobalt blue top just makes this one of the most glamorous mascaras ever! Get it in non waterproof, too. This Haute & Naughty collection also includes MAC’s Penultimate Eye Liner ($20.00 US); Eye Kohl ($16.00) , Superslick Eye Liner ($22.00), Fluidline ($16.00), and Pigment ($22.00)

Besame Cosmetics is known for gorgeous vintage packaging and for unusual products that take glamazons back to other decades with products that are “from another time” but “made new. One such product is their 1940s Cream Mascara ($20.00). Before there were all in one wanded mascaras and cake mascaras, women used squeeze tube mascara with a wand. The wand never enters the tube, so it doesn’t contaminate the contents. Also, you can control how much product you want simply by squeezing the desired amount onto the brush. This may not be a product that appeals to everyone, but the glossy, slow drying mascara lets you try different looks, and build up the volume you want without clumping. I wasn’t sure how much to use, and discovered that a little goes a long way. The included wand/brush coated my lashes evenly and perfectlyl! The mascara also washes off with just soap and water, it’s paraben-free, cruelty-free, gluten-free and made in the U.S.A. TIPS: this mascara dries slowly, so don’t squint or blink if you put it on your lower lashes . It’s easy to rinse the brush, but it is a bit messy. Keep the box in which to store the wand and the tube of mascara. Be sure the rinse the applicator after use.

Tired of the same old colors when it comes to eye liners? We are too! Chella SkinCare’s eyeliner pen in Indigo Blue ($24.00) offers you an instant, intense, deep sea blue in a fine-tipped marker with a line that you can adjust from thin to thick, or even to a cats-eye. It slides on like silk, and stays put until you remove it. Water-Resistant, Smudge Proof, Quick Drying, and Free of NANO and of Parabens! If organic is your thing, treat yourself to the Chella Water Resistant Mascara in Black ($25.00). For the price you are getting a vegan, cruelty-free mascara that uses Certified Organic Ingredients free from parabens, that is also gluten free — made with Panthenol conditioners and cocoa butter to moisturize lashes,. It didn’t provide super-thick va-va-voom volume, but if you have sensitive eyes, it’s a great choice.
