Do you wear makeup when you’re working out? You certainly aren’t alone. Check out the newest “face” fior COVERGIRL. She’s Massy Arias, a fitness instruction and Instagram “influencer” who is gorgeous without any makeup, but wears the new COVERGIRL Flourish by Lash Blast Mascara in a promo video before she begins a startlingly intensive workout. We’re also talking about a new foundation by COVERGIRL, in this feature!
Flourish Mascara has an attractive green case and comes in four shades: black, very black, black brown and brown.
We tried the Very Black but also Brown, a shade we usually avoid because it doesn’t really color lashes with any oomph. But this brown looked deep and soft, natural and lovely.
The formula features papaya, avocado, and coconut oil to condition your lashes.
Part of the campaign with Massy is the notion of “self care.” She’s a mom and always busy. While self care is a term that is trendy, taking time for yourself and enjoying little indulgences without guilt, is so important.
Even if you’re like Massy, on the go and busy all the time with other people’s needs, taking a few minutes to put on some mascara is a little thing you can do to make yourself look good and feel good.
Amp It Up!
Are your lashes hopelessly skimpy? The COVERGIRL Lash Blast Amplify Primer amps up your lash volume and length.
Apply this creamy, lightweight (white) primer (wait 30 seconds before applying mascara) and magic happens! Layering helps bulk up both width and length. We didn’t see a huge difference but we definitely did see more lashes, more quickly with less additional coats of mascara.
Argan, jojoba, and coconut oil help keep your lashes supple. If your eyes are sensitive no worries, it’s ok for sensitive skin and Opthalomologist testeed.

40 Shades of…!
Before we tell you about the how the new COVERGIRL TrueBlend Matte Made’s Foundation formula works, we want you to know that you’re choosing from an amazing 40 shades of light to deep tones. With few exceptions, foundations aren’t offered in this many colors. Here is the basic color chart:
Matte Made Color Chart:
If the ability to choose 40 shades of foundation isn’t enough, you’ll want to try this new foundation becuase it has a unique, flex-hold technology that moves with your skin (so it feels lightweight) along wth oil-absorbing powders that can hold two times their weight in oil.
The formula is transfer resistant and will lasat up to 12 hours. The formula is full coverasge but blend-able and it really does seem to have a pore minimizing effect. Even though it’s matte, it isn’t dry and cake-y so it’s the matte finish you’ll want for warmer weather (not to mention forever, once you find your perfect shade).
Matte Made Color Swatches
Having this much choice in color and tone can be daunting. How do you choose when there are 40 shades in four tone categories?
To help you, CoverGirl added letters and numbers along with names to show you where in the color spectrum your shade will be and also by Light, Medium, Tan, and Deep. Our samples were all in the L (light range).
As you can see from the color swatches on my arm and the photo of the front and backs of the bottles I sampled, there’s a whole lot of leeway between the lightest and the deepest.
Finding your perfect shade could still be a bit daunting, but at under $10 (depending upon the retailer) it’s not much of a budget risk.
