Review of Cover Girl Outlast: Makeup That Beats the Heat

These lipsticks in silvery tubes have really intense color that lasts, but the color isn’t transfer-proof if you are wiping your mouth on a napkin, kissing, etc. But for under $9.00 they’re a bargain with beautiful colors to boot! Red lovers will love the moistly-matte dramatic deep “Red Rogue” but the medium soft “Pink Pow!” is the perfect color for that afternoon wedding. There are a variety of pinks, reds, berries, plums and earth tones in various intensities. I have tried a number of them and almost all are universally flattering.

When warm weather hits, do you just abandon your foundation because it doesn’t last, gives you breakthrough shine, or simply fades to an unflattering color? Do you refuse to wear sunblock? I love the pump bottle that dispenses the right amount of foundation with having to stick my hands in a bottle. CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous foundation comes in cool, neutral and warm undertones to match to the needs of most skin tones in 14 shades: Ivory; Classic Ivory ; Creamy Natural; Buff Beige; Nude Beige; Natural Beige; Medium Beige; Warm Beige; Creamy Beige; Soft Honey; Golden Tan; Classic Tan; Tawny; and Soft Sable. With all this choice, you might be a bit overwhelmed. I tried Natural Beige and Nude Beige. In the bottle, these two looks almost the same, but the undertones are different. On my skin, the natural beige was rosier, and a bit brighter and warmer.
This foundation is fairly opaque, but if you choose a shade that isn’t quite perfect (both were fine for me, although on my freckled skin the Natural Beige won out), you can blend it out and make it work. Best of all, the foundation feels weightless on your skin but stays put through a long day or evening (Covergirl doesn’t call it “Outlast” for nothing).
Tip: for best results apply using a disposable sponge wedge or clean fingertips, by dabbing a small amount of foundation on the center of your cheeks. Then blend outward toward the edges of the face, concentrating on uneven areas, and decreasing intensity toward the hairline.
An Outlast Foundation for Luminous Skin in an Oil-Free Formula:
For those who want a luminous formula that lasts, there’s the new Outlast Stay Luminous Foundation (srp. $9.79-$12.79). It’s oil-free, non-greasy formula featuring a skin-illuminating complex of a radiance polymer plus “interference glow pigments” that make skin looks more luminous.
Instead of heavy powders and waxes, this product features oil-absorbing silica and polymer technology to produce luminosity. It also has glycerin and niacinamide to help hydrate skin from within and help it glow. 7 colors flatter mostly light to medium skin tones (there is just one really dark tone “Deep Sable”) but all have that amazing “all day” Outlast magic.
