I’ve been covering Fashion Week, and Creative Nail Design’s unique part in the pagent of fashion, for quite a few years now. When it comes to nails, CND has been not just a leader, but an innovator in runway (and regular people’s) nail color choices. Nail color on fingers and toes is recognized as an essential, integral part of a runway show, and CND has being working with designers for 15 years to bring their visions to life.
Although scheduling issues didn’t allow me to cover any of the shows backstage that CND was doing for Spring 2012, I did cover some for Fall/Winter 2010. If you want to see those posts, google advicesisters and CND fashion week fall 2011.
And, now that it really is Fall 2011, I know you’ll want to know what is hot for nails…so here goes:
For Fall Winter 2011 CND worked with 22 designers, including household names such as Jason Wu, Philip Lim, Carolina Hererra,Malandrino and Monique L’Huillier. I think you will enjoy this video from Creative Nail Design, showing some of the visions the designers had, and how CND make those visions come alive on the catwalk. In this Fall/Winter CND video, you’ll find out all sorts of tidbits, and learn about the stories that fueled the fashion, such as the fact the Jason Wu was inspired by the grandeur of Versailles to create a unusual, two-color, gilded nail.
..but I don’t want to give too much away! Let the video, surprise and delight you. And, while you’re at it, you can get some of the current Fall 2011 nail looks easily from Creative Nail with three specific colors: Midnight Sapphire, Dark Amethyst and Sheer 24K Sparkle Effect Topcoat. The deep, jewel toned blue and deep amethyst are perfect for day, and you can use the 24K sparkle Effect Topcoat over either for true nail bling, or just use it on bare or pale nails for a truly golden, glittery effect that’s beautiful, not “club kid” gaudy.
A friend was visiting when my samples arrived, and she dove on the 24K Sparkle Effect before I could even write this review. I guess I’ll have to give it her now that the review is completed, but frankly, you’ll want to get two sets: one for yourself, and one for a friend (because she will see yours, and want it)!
All CND’s nail lacquers are 3-Free: no toluene, formaldehyde or DBP. You’ll love the easy to grip tops, and ergonomic bottles. If you want to get The Look Fall 2011 box set including all three of these colors, it is SRP. $29.00 and available while supplies last at select salons and beauty supply stores. Also be sure to check out Creative Nail Design’s Web Site for more information, more videos, more fashion (*you’ll even see some of my past coverage of CND at Fashion Week)
