Luxurious Roses To the Rescue: A Review of the Dear Rose Fragrances
DEAR ROSE …the timeless presence of woman, in all her gestures, all her words and wishes, her will and secret desire… in all the nuances of escape and return…an essential expression of an every day woman, in the rain and wind, in a taxi, in the street at night, during the white mornings and waking sun…
The pretty, pleasing fragrance of roses is getting me through a bad case of the “blah’s.”
My latest obsession is an amazing collection of Eau de Parfum: Dear Rose, crafted in France by Roos & Roos.
Even the packaging lifts my spirits with a gracious sense of refinement.
I love the heavy cream paper stock of the box, embossed with a rose gold logo.
The logo reflects the full circle of women’s lives, complete with the thorns we use to protect ourselves when necessary!
Legendary Women make Legendary Fragrances
Legendary in the world of fragrance, Chantel Roos’ collaboration with her musician daughter, Alexa Roos brings the sophistication of French fragrance to modern women in a unique way.
The fragrances in the original, core collection embody specific personality stories of a specific kind of woman.
The Original Collection is 125 euros on the Dear Rose Website or ($135 for 3.4 fl. oz. at Neiman Marcus).
The Song Collection (135 euros or $200 3.3 fl. oz at Neiman Marcus) is based on fragrances around rare single fragrance notes. Each of the bottles has a very different design, as well.
It is what is inside the bottles, however, that truly brightens any dreary day for me… I simply love several of the fragrances.
A light top note of rose buds and crunchy green tones is layered on a base of luminous white woods for Dear Rose A Capella.
This lovely, light scent dreamily transports my spirit from a morning in my busy New York City office to a midsummer evening in a forest, complete with wood nymphs and bowers of, yes you guessed it – roses!
And who can resist an Eau de Parfum named, “I Love My Man”?
It is a fragrance featuring full-blown Bulgarian and centifolia roses combined with a seductive hint of cinnamon. It provides a warm, woody embrace with a flirtatiously spicy top note.
Another of my favorites is called: La Favorite. It also has a spicy allure, as well as an earthy leather base blended with Patchouli. What can I say? I was raised in the 70’s!

There are many options in the Dear Rose collection to appeal to almost anyone who is looking for a something new, fresh and unexpected. I highly recommend the Dear Rose collection to everyone in need of a little respite from winter.
