Who says fragrances can’t be affordable and fun? Certainly not Demeter Fragrances. They have literally 250 different scents in their “Fragrance library,” and over dozens of single-note fragrances in a variety of themed collections. They have florals and fruits, and other traditional scents, but they also have dozens or really weird and unusual ones definitely not made in nature. For example, my husband’s favorite Demeter Fragrance is called “Crayon.” He keeps a bottle on his desk at work, maybe to remind him that all work and no play, is not a good thing. There are candy hearts and Necco inspired scents, and even some like dirt and celery. Inspired by everyday experiences these single note novelties are just plain fun to wear. For example. two scents perfect for Summer are “Laundromat,” and “Pure Soap.” The first smells like a combo of laundry soap and warm clothes right out of the dryer, the latter like skin after you’ve just come out of a cleansing shower. While I wouldn’t suggest wearing these instead of bathing, these unisex scents feel fresh and clean, and may make you feel less wilted, even if your are truly withering in the heat.
Also great for Summer is “Sex on the Beach.” This scent is slightly fruity like the drink it is named for (the drink has peach scnhapps, vodka, cranberry juice and orange juice), but I swear there is a hint of warm skin and suntan lotion, too.
