L’Envol de Cartier Eau de Toilette (80 ML. $105, 2.7 oz. or 50 ML $80) for men really isn’t, as we don’t feel that there should be a distinction, wear what smells good on you.
But the primarily masculine fragrance, created by perfumer Mathilde Laurent, can smell pretty amazing on a woman (we tried it and we loved it).
Get it for him, and ask him to share it with you!
The fragrance has “legs” and lasts on your skin, but it’s not so in your face that either man or woman couldn’t wear it any time of day or evening.
The bottle itself is very clean, simple, and elegant in substantial clear round glass. It’s the bright silver guilloché cap (intricate mechanically engraved repetitive architectural pattern of spirals), that catches the eye.
This cap is a reference to “victorious path traced by aviator Santos-Dumont (Louis Cartier was a fan). In fact, Cartier in face created and named a perfume and his first men’s wristwatch after Santos-Dumont to allow the aviator to check his flight performance while keeping both hands on the controls.
