I always think of L’Oreal hair care as being effective and affordable. But now L’Oreal has developed a new line of hair care: L’Oreal Professionnel Absolut Repair Cellular with Lactic Acid, that has really caught my attention. For starters, lactic acid is not great if it builds up in other parts of your body, but apparently when it permeates your hair, it provides strength and elasticity. Lactic Acid is, by definition, a natural, mild organic acid prepared by fermentation most often used in cosmetics to adjust acid/alkali balance. Lactic acid is a primary component in the skin’s natural buffer system. Without getting too technical, this hair care system rebuilds hair structure from inside the cell core using an in-salon care routine, and products for an at-home beauty routine. Repaired from deep inside, damaged hair is transformed.
And the new line of L’Oreal Absolut Repair Cellular hair care products also have “INCELL technology” that restores the hair cuticle’s protective capabilities for a resulting, smooth and shiny finish. If your hair suffers from severe dryness, damage and split ends, smooth and shiny seems nearly impossible. This new line of hair care provides enough TLC to bring it back to life.
I didn’t try all 7 products (they are sulfate free, by the way) ranging from about $9.99 to $37.00, but I did try a few. If your hair is in bad shape, nothing that I have ever tried will “mend” it permanently other than regular trims (sorry, but it is true). However, this new line will definitely make a difference you can see and feel. According to L’Oreal in just 10 days: hair is 74% stronger and 83% softer and more conditioned. I can’t say for sure if my hair was stronger (and it isn’t all that damaged to begin with) but it was softer, definitely do. And it felt silky and smooth. No matter what condition your hair is in, a deep conditioning treatment every week or so is a treat and a benefit.L’oreal Absolut Repair Cellular – Repairing Blow-Dry Spray for very damaged hair: Gives added protection to very damaged hair all day long.
The L’Oreal Professionel Absolut Repair Cellular Haircare Collection includes: Shampoo (8.5 oz. $22.00)’ Conditioner (5.0 oz. $22.00), Masque (6.7 oz. $30.00), Thermo-Repair Blow-Dry Spray (4.2 oz. $24.00), Cleansing Balm (8.5 oz. $24.00), and two in-salon services: Powerdose treatment and fiber repair services (prices vary, check with your salon).
I liked the Cleansing Balm a lot and especially the flip-top tube, but at $24.00 it is more of a weekly (or bi-weekly) option for those who are budget minded. The regular Shampoo and Conditioner also clock in at $44.00 for the pair, which is more than drugstore, and also a lot of other competitive brands. One standout in this collection was the Thermo-Repair Blow-Dry Spray. Normally, I assume all of these heat protectant sprays are good, but similar. But this one’s lightweight feel and scent, made me eager to use it. And it also has lactic acid to help nurture damaged areas of the hair to replenish and reinforce. Since blow drying and heat styling are some of the main sabateurs of healthy and undamaged hair, you really must use a heat protectant. This one is worth the extra to help protect and enhance your hair.
The line launched in August, and it is available at www.lorealprofessionnel-us.com or 1-800-545-8150 to find an authorized salon/
