Not everything that works, costs a fortune. You don’t always have to go to the fanciest store to solve your beauty issues. Today, I’m suggesting three easy to use, affordable, easily accessible products that can help you have smoother and moister skin, whiter teeth and even a sexy “tan.” And NONE of them cost more than $15.00.
To those with itchy, dry skin, shea butter is a prized product. But not every shea butter product is good. Perlier’s shea butter (made in Italy), is vanilla scented, and very solid, so it won’t break in your bag. Another nice thing about it is that you don’t need much to hydrate even the driest skin. s lightweight plastic jar contains an off-white shea butter product that is organic and 50% organic shea butter enriched with vanilla extract. This ultra rejuvenating body butter softens skin and gives dry, irritated skin a true feeling of comfort. The shea butter feels very luxurious(and not too oily) for a shea butter product. Even if shea butter isn’t normally your thing, this super-emollient, nearly solid cream, will satfisfy men and women whose skin needs huge amounts of hydration, stat! Perlier products are available at HSN.com and www.perlier.com . This Shea Butter is a mere $15.00 for a 3.3 fl. oz. jar made in italy. It will be a welcome product on your shelf, especially in Winter, when drying heat and outdoor activities make more intense moisturization of your skin, essential.
Not all toothpastes are created equal. For example, while some toothpastes just help prevent cavities, or give you fresh breath, the newest from Colgate, called Optic White, has the same whitening ingredient as strips + hydrogen peroxide but in a more gentle, 1% hydrogen peroxide concentration. The active is .76% sodium monoflourophosphate for anti-cavity protection (because you still need to take care of your teeth whether they’re white, or not). The toothpaste promises to give you whiter teeth in one week. I have been using it for several weeks, and I do like it. It tastes minty and pleasant, and it does seem to get rid of surface stains. My teeth aren’t very discolored to begin with and I didn’t expect to see blindingly white teeth, but I was a bit disappointed that with regular use, the intial “wow!” didn’t get any stronger. The product is good, and it will do everything you expect from a good toothpaste. It’s not too expensive, and it’s easy accessible. Colgate also has a companion piece, an Optic White toothbrush with multi colored bristles and a feature: three round sets of bristles in the middle called “whitening cups” that hold some of the toothpaste so the paste will help to remove surface stains. Some of the bristles are “polishing” bristles to help whiten teeth in hard to reach places. A nice touch is the tongue and cheek cleaner on the back of the brush head to remove odor causing bacteria, and help you have fresher breath. I’ve been using the toothbrush with the Optic White toothpaste, and I really like it. You can find Colgate products, including these Optic White products, in your favorite drug or mass market store for $3.99-$5.00.
Is your tan fading along with your “sunny” attitude? You can have soft, sun-kissed skin all year long with Nivea’s Sun-Kissed Raidant Skin Gradual Tanner & Daily Lotion. The product not only hydrates your skin (and it probably needs a little more hydration now that the cooler weather is here), but it also adds a gradual, fool-proof “tan” to your skin. It has Nivea’s signature Hydra IQ technology, that really helps the moisturizers amp of your skin’s moisture level, through an exclusive patented moisturizing technology. The process helps to deliver moisture where it is needed, in a long-lasting manner that can last up to 24 hours (and this really does work). Meanwhile, as you smooth the product onto your skin With gingko extract and grape seed oil the Nivea Sun-Kissed Radiant Skin Gradual Tanner & Daily Lotion will gradually deposit some color that will layer more intensity the more days you use the product up to five days. There is a medium to dark and a fair to medium. If this isn’t an incentive to moisturize on a daily basis, I don’t know what is! The “tan” is not outrageous (you won’t look like you were baking in the San Tropez sun for a week), but it will help even out or boost back a fading tan (faux or real). The SPR is $9.99 and you can find it in your favorite drug or mass market retailers.
