Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don’t! Sometimes you feel like wearing something bold, bright, electric, but then there are the days where soft, feminine and subtle is what you want.
Today’s feature is all about choice! Subtle shades from essie polish and polish, bright neons from Morgan Taylor/Gelish.
The essie “Wild Nudes” collection features a range of subtle shades, but these nude-ish colors have enchanted us…not a boring one in the bunch.
Morgan Taylor and Gelish Mini bring you the “Selfie Summer” collection with the brightest neon shades that you’ll want to flaunt this Summer. The soak-off gel manicure formula lasts a long time, but the luxe nail lacquer features an ultra-wide applicator brush to get your mani/pedi done — flawlessly.

essie’s Wild Nudes Collection:
Essie is usually our “go-to” for neon nail polish, but the collection we’ve just received from essie is soft and subtle and anything by “day-go.”
The Essie Wild Nudes Collection is a charming mix of natural (not necessarily all nude) tones that will flatter every skin tone from light to deep.
When we first showed these on our Instagram feed @advicesisters_beauty-and-style , the reaction was “wow! We love all of these colors!”
Our photos show you how lovely and also how different, subtle shades can be.
*as with many polish collections, some of the shades requires a few more (or less) coats.

These easy to wear creamy colors will easily take you from Spring to Fall. From the bottom left clockwise:
Skinny Dip (almost clear sheer peach)
Bare With Me (nice coverage in a fleshy-toned, slightly greyed apricot)
Wild Nude (it’s a creamy “mushroom” that looks amazing with 2-3 thin coats)
Without a Stitch (creamy dove grey that needs a couple of coats and then looks dreamy)
Mooning (essie calls this “light shadowy blue with an undertone of black” we say it’s a soft medium dove blue that has great coverage.
Exposed (it’s not quite khaki, not quite moss green -slightly more yellow, but we’ve nver seen a color like this — modern and exciting with good coverage).
Truth or Bare, a glorious medium deep cinnamon brown with a hint of red for warmth and great coverage
Clothing Optional (essie describes this color as “natural sienna brown” but it’s not quite “burnt” more red-tan).
Winning Streak (this creamy dark plum with a hint of gray is elegant and four-season with great coverage0.

We’ve made a merry-go-round of these merry shades starting from the bottom left (clockwise):
No Filter Needed (described as “blue neon” but it’s not day-glo, it’s a bright turquoise).
Me Myself-ie and I (a true day-glo bright orange but with the teeniest hint of coral). Woke Up This Away (Electric Fuschia Neon –it’s neon-ish bold and bright, but slightly deeper than the usual pop-art pink)

Best Face Forward (Purple Neon -a modern bright of deep clear purple).
All About the Pout (it’s the lightest of the shades, but the most retro, a pale coral pink used in 60’s posters).
Pretty as a Pink-ture (medium pink neon – the quintessential neon bright pop art pink).
*note that neon nail lacquer is mostly matte. Add a clear top coat to make the color pop!
