If you’re thinking of getting a special, superstar lipstick from Spring 2012, you can’t go wrong with a new color from Exude. Exude is a unique lipstick that is a far cry from the standard, waxy bullet in a tube. This one, in a pristine white, slightly rubberized tube, comes nestled into a foam form, in a hard sided, pristine white box. Exude has two formulas: Lipstick/Creme and Lip Gloss. But it’s the “crystal applicator” delivery system that is so unique: a clear, plastic, slant-tipped nozzle that dispenses a semi-solid products as you twist the tube. With the slant tip, application is precise, and since it’s not a rigid waxy bullet, it won’t ever lose it’s shape. In fact, if you swivel up a bit too much product it sinks right back into the tube.
There are 9 creme and 5 lip gloss shades, The lip crème is available in flattering, fashion-forward colors of: coral, cranberry, rosy brown, nude, brown, bronze, plum, red, and pink and feature Vitamins E & C in a creamy, elastic gel formula. The lip gloss is available in 5 colors: crimson, brown, clear, dusty pink, and scarlet red and features a good-for-your-skin, anti-aging complex of Omega-3 and Omega-6 essential fatty acids, and Goji Berry and vitamin E. Both formulas keep your lips moist and what’s more, they last for hours without having to re-apply them. A hint of mint adds just a bit of a refreshing tingle. Even if your lips are a bit Winter-weary, Exude will gloss over the imperfections (pun intended) and make lips look lovely.
Although I suggested the rich, deep berry stain called: “Cranberry” for the holidays and Winter (it’s Rachel Zoe’s favorite), for Spring 2012 my pick is the Lip Creme in “Coral,” It will allow you to wear the orange lip trend that is a must for Spring, but the coral has enough warmth in it (along with a hint of shimmer) so that you look great and trendy, without wearing a true orange that is too garish for most people to pull off. However, if you want to lighten up your lips with lots of shine and color, but more in a sheer, shiny way, try the Lip Gloss in “Scarlet Red” that follows the never-ending red lip trend. It’s a bold, bright red, but since it’s super shiny and sheer, it is more a sexy lip stain that works in every season. Or try “Crimson,” a universally flattering mauve with attitude –deep and shiny. You can also mix your favorites together to make a color that’s all your own (I liked Scarlet Red and Crimson together). Since these are not solid, they blend, beautifully.
Stylist and reality star (and now fashion designer) Rachel Zoe is a spokesperson for Exude, and you can bet she knows a thing or two about star quality and how to make a beautiful statement. At $29.00 retail, Exude is in the higher end of lip products, but it packs a true beauty punch. Exude won’t crack, break, melt, crumble or disappoint you, and it’s literally good till the last drop. Like statement jewelry, sometimes it’s just one thing that makes a huge difference in your look. See what Exude can do for you this Spring. Get it at www.exudelipstick.com.
