When it comes to fragrance, the cosmetics and beauty brand Philosophy Fragrances ‘ philosophy is the “less is more.” Their fragrances are soft, appropriate for work, subtle enough that you have to get close to the person wearing it to really smell it. That’s why Philosophy scents are favorites among nurses, teachers, and anyone who works in close contact with the public.
While Amazing Grace is perhaps Philosophy’s blockbuster hit, with a scent that is actually billed as a scent that “never offends” anyone featuring notes of bergamot, muguet blossoms and musk, there’s another Philosophy Fragrance: Falling in Love, that seems to be the right one to spritz for Valentines’ Day.
No, you don’t have to be falling in love with another person to want to wear it, you just have to love something…someone…somewhere! The label suggests that first you have to love yourself and accept your own flaws, before you can truly love another, flaws all and all. We would tend to agree (read our “Ode To True Love” Feature Article).
Like the other Philosophy fragrances, this one is subtle and light and won’t offend your co-workers, but as advertised, it does have a bit of romantic pizazz, a nod to the younger woman more than her mother. Like the excitement of a first love that’s blooming into something special, it starts out with a stunning opener of blackberry, followed by romantic sparkling jasmine and a drydown with vanilla. Used by itself, it doesn’t have a lot of staying power but you can use a lot of it or layer it with other products in the line to make it last longer.
Philosophy’s signature, nearly clear (just a hint of light blue), square glass bottle with simple spray top speaks as softly as the fragrances do, and the baby blue label says all it needs to: Falling in Love (“you have to love yourself before you can truly love another”).
It is easy to see why women of all ages and personalities fall in Love with Philosophy fragrances, and why they will fall in love Falling In Love By Philosophy. There are complementary products in the collection (e.g. shower gel, body lotion, solid perfume), available in a variety of places including QVC and ULTA. This is a nice gift for your favorite mom, friend, sister, BFF or anyone special, including yourself this Valentines Day or any day. We suggest you visit the Philosophy Web Site for more information on all your favorite Philosophy products.
