It would be a serious understatement for me to merely say: “I’m a fan of Fendi products. The name is synonymous with luxury, from clothing and accessories, to fragrance.
Edoardo and Adele Fendi opened a leather shop in Italy back in 1925. That small shop grew into an empire. Today, the Fendi name is carefully attached to luxury goods that are special, elegant, and beautiful. For example, the iconic, Fendi baguette bag with it’s “forever”buckle is a coveted item for every woman of style.
Which brings me to the point of this particular review. There’s a new, Fendi fragrance, that embodies all l that is Fendi. It is called: “Fan di FENDI” and it’s easy to instantly, love.
Fan di FENDI Eau de Parfum arrives packaged in a cardboard box of bright yellow, with gold, embossed letters, reminiscent of a fine, Italian leather wallet, or perhaps, the sunshine of Italy that makes you happy just to be in it. The bottle itself is looks precious, a stunning collectible designed by Fabien Baron, in homage to the icons of FENDI. The bottle, is clear glass set on the horizontal, framed by a shiny gold “forever” Fendi buckle logo. The cap, not quite square but rounded at the edges, has a frontpiece in black enamel, bearing FENDI” in block letters. It is an allusion to another Fendi bag, the “Peekaboo” bag’s black clasp. The light golden juice literally glows within it’s Fendi trappings.
…and then there is the actual scent. It’s blissfully luxurious, a warm floral, but not an old or silly one. Created by François Demachy, the floral is present, there is some spice. It has complex and sensual aspects. Fan di FENDI is a nod to a powerful, elegant, confident woman who knows she has sexual power, more than just a woman that is merely sexual. The actual top notes include: pear blackcurrant accord, tangerine from Calabria and pink peppercorn from Reunion Island , a heart of Damascena rose and yellow jasminem, and base notes that mix right in from the beginning, appropriately. A soft leather accord, and patchouli from Indonesia give it that wink of spice that tames the florals into something special.
If you are seeking a new fragrance because you are an exceptional woman, or aspire to be one, or you love fragrance bottles, Fan di FENDI is a must-have. Luckily, it’s available right now exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue, and in September, it will also be available in specialty and department stores.
