“This season I went to an art gallery for my inspiration for the new Helios & Luna Collection for Fall 2012. I become obsessed by the paintings of British conceptual modern artist Martin Creed. His graphic bold strokes and colors reflect the spirit of the women the collection is designed for.” Patricia Clyne
Fashion week officially begins tomorrow, but there have been shows and presentations going on for the past couple of day in conjunction with the Fall 2012 collections. Helios & Luna’s presentation showed wearable, daytime clothes that channelled the architectual, almost boxy designs of the 1960’s. The first model out sported a viscose blend color blocked sweater in polished copper and fire with polished copper leather and double knit yoke skirt with a nylon effortless 3/4 sleeve topper in Fire. This outfit is ladylike, but has a modern edge, and would flatter a wide range of women. Little details like bold back zippers keep the styles from being merely “retro” and add a polished, modern touch.
Gorgeous stilettos and sandals by Fratelli Rosesetti, and jewelery by Kara Ross Fine Jewelry. This hefty chain necklace just knocked me out! Statement pieces like this make an oufit really pop!
