At a recent green products expo I was introduced to Fresh Wave, a company that has natural odor neutralilzers that are safe even around children and pets. In fact, the products are made with natural extracts of lime, pine needles, aniseed, clove, cedar, wood and soya., The “wierd science” is the natural molecules that carry and electrostatic charge on their surfrace, to attract and bind bad “smelly” particles. Once the fresh wave molecules are saturated, they fall away and neutralize the offending odor.
Fresh Wave’s products come in traditonal candles, household sprays, and other scent-eliminating formulas, but they also make an interesting product that looks pretty and works longer (and just as well) as traditional odor eaters: The have 8, and 16 oz jars of soft, light green gel crystals (there’s a 64 oz. refill, too). You can leave these open in a bathroom, kitchen, playroom, your car –just about anywhere, and the gel works like a pretty little workhorse to eliminate odors around the clock. You don’t even need to think about them. Just open the jar and let the crystal gel do its job. The only issue I have with this excellent product is that you don’t get that first burst of scent to cover a bad smell, but for overall use in your “space,” this product does a good job at keeping foul odors at bay — without harsh or harmful chemicals.
I wish I had a photo of the crystals, but I don’t have a camera with me today. As I was thinking about what post would be great for a Monday morning, and after doing some “Spring cleaning” of a musty closet, I realized Fresh Wave Gel Crystals Odor Neutralizer would be perfect! You can check out the wide array of odor neutralizing products from Fresh Wave on their Web Site.
The 8 oz size is $8.95–well worth the small price if you are concerned about odors, but want to eliminate them in a safe, “green” way. If you love it, there’s a 16 oz size for under $15.00 and even a 64 oz. Crystal Gel Refil for $49.95.
