Recently I tried an interesting, new, aromatherapy product from the lovely ladies, Marie and Cherie of G2 Organics. It’s called “Breath of Fresh Air,” and it is an all natural aromatherapy treatment for allergy, cold, and flu sufferers. The product is fairly simple: a gathering of seven essential oils, and natural herbs, in an attractive, well-sealed, clear jar so you can see the herbs inside. There is a small seashell inside the jar that is not just for decoration. If you want to carry the scent with you, but don’t want to carry loose herbs, just tuck the shell into pocket or purse! You open it and…inhale!
Marie and Cherie believe very strongly in all natural ingredients and the healing power of both these, and crystals. This product isn’t full of chemicals or fancy, high-tech ingredients, but it can help to open your sinuses and offer you a refreshing, invigorating aroma in every sniff.
I love G2 Organics nail polish remover (no smell, gentle to nails, natural and organic.), so I was really excited to try this new product. It just so happened, I had a bad cold when I decided to test Breath of Fresh Air. I opened the jar, and inhaled. I felt instantly more alert (the scent counter-acted some of the sleepiness I felt from the cold pills I’d been taking) and the fresh herbal scent did help me open my sinuses–at least a little bit–so I could breathe. In fact, Breath of Fresh Air was the only thing I could smell that day.
I am less certain about how this product claims to kill airborne pathogens (Bacteria, Viruses), thereby reducing secondary infections. But if you take a moment to uncap and inhale as needed or use in a steam treatment for severe sinusitis, whether it is curative or not, you will feel better. In the end, that’s the best reason to buy it. The product is also good for dealing with minor headaches, too. To use this with steam, add 1 Tablespoon of Breath of Fresh Air to one cup of boiling water. Tent your head with a towel to allow the steam to enter your nasal passages. Breathe normally for 5 to 10 minutes
Breath of Fresh Air will last up to 2 years when used as directed on the product tag or, I guess, if you don’t use it often for steam treatments. Shaking the jar periodically will keep the scent lively. You don’t have to feel bad or have a headache to use it, of course. I keep my jar at my desk, and sniff it now and then just to clear my head. For maximum life and to retain the therapeutic qualities, don’t keep the jar open for more than 20 minutes at a time.
Breath of Fresh Air is $24.00, nicely gift wrapped with a grosgrain ribbon and a genuine crystal in the box. It would make a nice “get well soon” gift, or something for a friend that just needs a pick me up. is a product of G2 Organics, LLC For more information, visit the G2Organics Web Site
