an audio-technica recording turntable
Do remember going to a record store to buy the latest? Maybe not, if you aren’t a baby boomer. But guess what? Vinyl and turntables (aka. record players) are coming back in a big way with millennial consumers.
Classic and Trendy:
There are no goofy hippie glasses in the Vinyl collection. hThe frames are sophisticated classic and trend. However, they’re also flattering to many face shapes and personalities. In fact, the unisex Vinyl Collection includes 30 skus, 10 styles of glasses, and 3 styles of sunglasses in a variety of colors and finishes. All of the frames are eligible for prescription lenses.

Ottoto Flippo has the clear lenses and Ottoto Del Porto has lenses for sunglasses
I chose two frames from the Vinyl Collection: Ottoto Flippo for clear lenses and Ottoto Del Porto for sunglasses.
Ottoto Flippo:
I am very particular about my glasses. I’ve worn prescription eyeglasses since the 5th grade. If a lens isn’t ground just right, I can immediately sense that. I have tried online lenses before and they were ok, but not perfect. When the Ottoto glasses and sunglasses arrived, the lenses were perfect. All I needed to do with bend the earpieces to fit even better.

I wanted to try some frames that were different from the ones I wear all the time. I usually select square or cats’ eye frames, but I wanted to try something different. For the regular prescription progressives, I choose the Otto Flippo frame in shiny black from the Ottoto Vinyl Collection. The frame reminds me of the deep black vinyl of a record. The metal bridge reminds me of a turntable needle. They’re also super comfortable.
The nose pads are sculpted right into the frame. Although Ottoto Flippo is a medium-sized frame, I have a thin face. However, the Glasses USA website gives you plenty of information plus a “try on” option if you want to see how the frames might look on your face.

Ottoto Del Potro:
Glasses USA generously sent me another pair of glasses I liked from the Ottoto Vinyl Collection. These are the Ottoto Del Potro style which is meant for sunglasses. These are in shiny black or clear. Featuring a modern metal bridge, sleek arms, and sculpted into the frame nose pads for a snug fit.
The Vinyl Collection Ottoto Del Potro frames look similar to the Ottoto Flippo frames. However, they’re more rounded and slightly larger so they’re great for sunglasses. The Ottoto Flippo style has a more squared-off bottom. Glasses USA website calls the Del Potro style “cats eyes” as they flare out a bit. As you can see however, yhey’re not your typical 50’s shape.
