The texture is light, but once you put it on your lips, press them together, and maybe add another coat for good measure, you can almost feel the color taking hold. It will last literally all day. I drank several bottles of water and then ate lunch, and late in the afternoon, the color was still there! A luxury lip product needs a beautiful package, and this one is lovely. Nothing here is less than luxurious. The black bottle has a slim, peek-a-boo window so you can see the color, and the top is shiny gold with the YSL logo embossed into the front in red. Instead of being the usual, slimline wanded tube, this one is rectangular, elegant, and only slightly larger than a lipstick tube. Some suggest it looks more like a nail polish bottle than a lipstick, but I think it just looks distinctive!

For the very first time, ethylcellulose, an ultra-resistant polymer, used in the agri-food sector to coat food and give it a tempting shine, has been blended with a perfectly matched emollient oil(1) and a silicone oil(2), and emulsified in an aqueous base.
