Did you re-discover the joy of cooking during the last year? Many people did during the pandemic lockdowns. Plenty of folks are still working or going to school from home. Therefore, advicesisters.com is suggesting a lot of gourmet goodies for yourself and also as holiday gift ideas this year.
Olive Oil Dipping & “Everything” Spices:
The Spice Lab offers hand-crafted, small-batch spice blends to really spice up their life. They’re also non-GMO, kosher, and gluten-free (good for keto and paleo diets). The Olive Oil Dipping Set #2 ($15) is also nicely boxed for gifting with Bring the delish to pizza, pasta sauce, and olive oil three spice blends to perk up pasta, sauces, pizza, and dipping oil. These make comfort foods, even better. Everything + More ($25) just cream cheese your bagel (or whatever else you want) and shake on a sensational flavor. Last holiday season we suggested Creative Mixology cocktail rimmers from The Spice Lab. Visit the website!
Great Scott! These are Gourmet Goodies:
Scotland is a beautiful country and one that I long to revisit someday. Meanwhile, The Scottish Grocery can bring some of the tastes of the highlands to us. Perusing the Scottish Grocer website there were so many delicious things to gift. My picks (in the photo) are Mrs. Bridges Morello Cherry ($9.39) and also Black Currant Preserves ($8.39) using all-natural ingredients from traditional recipes and cooked in copper kettles. As an award-winning jam and jelly maker, I have never cooked anything in a copper kettle, but after tasting these, I might just have to get a copper pot! I also am suggesting a tin of classic Scottish butter toffee in a re-useable plaid tin ($10.89). I’m not going to lie, I ate most of them myself, hiding them from the husband! A gender-neutral-scented bar of Highland Honey & Oats handmade soap made with natural organic skin soothers is also a great stocking stuffer at under $9. There is also Haggis and other Scottish Food, Drink & Sweets on the Scottish Grocer website.
Hot N Saucy How They Like It!
If you know someone who loves hot sauces, you have the perfect gift. There are so many, and some are more unique than others. For example, Hot N Saucy Flavor Pack has three distinctly different types of hot sauces: Garlic N Peperoncini (some say it’s sweet, but it’s also not too hot). Sweet Potato N Habenero (hot, sweet and great with chicken, shrimp and fish), and Beet N Fresno (slightly sweet medium heat to pair with chicken, tacos and pork). The labels are colorful too! Created by a New York chef while pregnant and craving spicy food during the pandemic. Whether you like it sweet and hot, or just plain hot, there’s something in the collection to love. These are just three examples. The Flavor Pack is $30 but since each hot sauce is $10 per bottle you might switch out Collards N Ghost (really hot) or Black Garlic N Peri Peri (also super hot) or get all five for $50 — a great gift! https://www.hotnsaucy.co/
