I’ve reviewed literally thousands of beauty products, but I always get really excited when I learn of new skincare brands or unique products. Eraclea, Bodi Brand, Masque Bar, and Baebody offer great skincare products. I hope they inspire you to do something good for your skin, today!
Super Sun Multi-Tasker By Eraclea
When it comes to great skincare products, I need to mention that we recently reviewed Eraclea Restorative Night Cream + Melatonin and loved it. Even when I lived in NYC where it was dark and cold a lot of the time, I was aware of the sun’s damaging rays. Now in Florida, I really take sun protection seriously.
I’m one of those people with sensitive skin. I find that multi-tasking skincare works well. So I’m really enthusiastic about Ereclea’s Perfectionist 4-in-1 Cream with SPF 30. I was going to save the product for a sunblock feature, but I can’t wait to share it with you, so here’s more about it:
Super Sheer Cream
This sheer cream is in an oxygen-free pump. But that isn’t the only reason it’s one of my selected great skincare products. It’s a super-sheer tinted cream featuring Eraclea’s proprietary, hydrating HylaFusion®, plant growth factors, and broad-spectrum SPF 30 sunscreen. There is a whopping 21.5% Zinc Oxide. SPF 30 is considered the minimum for outright sun exposure (which you shouldn’t really do anyway). But it’s fine for daily use a whole lot better than not using any.
Zinc oxide can be chalky, especially on deeper skin tones. In this product, the tint is buildable if you wish, but if not, it still whisks away the chalky look. You’re left with hydration and a super lightweight silky feel. The moisture-enhancing cream supports collagen production while it protects your skin. Even if you’re one of the holdouts that refuse to wear sunblock, you might just be a convert with this lovely and effective Eracla product.
There are a number of different collections (the Ereclea’s Perfectionist 4-in-1 Cream with SPF 30 is from the “Rejuvenate” anti-aging line). There’s something for everyone. Visit the Eraclea website.
Baebody Tea With Collagen
I’m not a tea drinker per se, but Collagen Tea from Baebody might make me drink it more often. The vanilla and hibiscus flavor seems just right for iced tea in warmer weather and the 14 caffeine-free teabags might just help my body promote more youthful and healthy skin and joints.
This is an herbal supplement with 2,500 mg. of collagen per teabag. It doesn’t have any gluten. It’s non-GMA and Paleo-friendly plus cruelty-free. As with most things ingestible, the amount you take depends upon your age and your general health situation. The older you are, the less collagen you produce and the more collagen (I’d assume) you would need in a single dose.
What Kind of Collagen?
The collagen in Bae Body’s Collagen tea is made up of Hydrolyzed collagen (collagen hydrolysate). This type is derived from (cattle), marine (seafood), poultry (often chicken or eggshells), pigs, and other animal sources, and it’s broken down into smaller and easier-to-absorb peptide particles.
I like the idea of drinking your collagen in an easy-to-use and tasty tea bag. However, you have to be patient and use this as directed, and consistently. From all I’ve read, any collagen used as a supplement could take 2-4 months to really show results.
On the other hand, drinking a cup of collagen tea a day isn’t a bad idea. These will be great with ice this Summer as well. As with everything you put into your body, I do suggest you confer with your physician if you’re wondering about adding anything to your diet on a regular basis. Great Skincare Products By Bodi Brand:
If you open a box and the most glorious aroma hits your nose, you know you’re going to see something special inside. That’s just what happened when I opened a box of Bodi Brand skin and body care products. I’ll get to the bottom line, I am so impressed with Bodi Brand, I’m going to indulge in some products for myself!
Advicesisters.com received two of the trio of Bodi Brand Candles ($60) Neema and Asante. The round clear glass votives show the colors of the candles within and highlight the wooden wicks. Asante (“Thank You”) is created with sandalwood and a touch of sweet amber. However, to me, it smells like one of my all-time favorite pomegranate candles — bright, fruity, brilliant. Of course, everyone’s perception of scent is different. Light the candle and say “Asante” as you count the gifts that you receive daily.
The Neema Candle (“Blessing”) is a deep amber color and a lovely blend of citrus and wood. Light this and count your blessings! We didn’t get the Imani (“Faith”) candle but the key note is Jasmine. White florals are never my favorite but if you like white florals, based on the beauty of the other two, you’ll love this one.
Body Soap:
The generously sized chunk of Body Soap with almond oil and soothing colloidal oats ($24/ 4 oz.) really is a bit of a splurge. However, the soap can do good things for your skin, especially if it’s irritated or sensitive. The lavender essential oil is so calming. Free your mind, cleanse your skin, and feel happy! My tip is to be sure to keep the soap dry to protect your investment. Use a soap holder or elevate it away from any water so it dries solid,
The Bodi Brand Bath Crystals (Body Soak – $18/ 8 fl. oz.) look so beautiful! They are a blend of pure Himalayan sea salt and dead sea salt, plus rose petals and Epson salt, and essential oil. The sensual blend makes you feel pampered as it smooths and soothes your skin. If you soak before bed you are sure to have a great nights’ sleep!
Bodi Brand products retail between $9.00 – $60.00 and are available at www.bodibrandsoap.com and in one local retailer, a juice bar and wellness boutique in Portland, Oregon. They have also donated their products to local nonprofits in Portland, Oregon, and to homeless shelters throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Make It A Masque Bar Day:
Last April I wrote about skincare products for the socially distant. Today, just about a year later, we are still socially distancing. It is raining. It’s a perfect day to stay in a do a facial masque (see advicesisters skincare previous masque stories). So my only dilemma? Which one to do first? Masque bar has so many different types of facial masks!
In my hand are three: A brightening sheet masque that works in less than 30 minutes (3 pack), a hydrating bio-cellulose mask that intensely hydrates. Maybe I’ll close the orange mask in the middle, a bio-cellulose mask that helps brighten your complexion by minimizing the look of uneven skin. Since I’ve been in the sun a lot, that is going to be my choice today!
The bio-cellulouse masks are single-use. The Masque Bar brightening bio-cellulose mask has aloe, grapefruit seed extract, and peppermint leaf extract. It’s a no-brainer to use. Simply open the package, unfold the mask, situate it on your face, wait 30 minutes, massage the rest of the masque into your skin–voila! The blue mask on the right hydrates and soothes your skin with grapefruit seed extract, chamomile extract, and hazel extract. It too is a lovely pick-me-up.
In the box on the left in my photo are three complete masque “sachets.” Orange extract, licorice root, and Vitamin C give proven skincare benefits. In case you need to know, these sheet masks are Hydroquinone (skin-lightening agent), sulfate, paraben, mineral oil, silicone, petrolatum-free. Your skin will look refreshed, and you can do it in 20-30 minutes! Do something nice for your face and make it a Masque Bar Day (most masks are $4-$10) so check them all out at www.masquebar
