Oh, Summer is nearly here and with it, the heat and humidity that can make you want to make every day a “hat” day. But here are two tools, but from the excellent line, T3, to tame the frizz and make your beauty routine more efficient and (dare I say it) more fun!I love the red carpet look of soft, loose waves. They look feminine and still, sophisticated. However, unless you are naturally endowed with wavy hair that falls “just right,” you’re not going to get this effortless look, without at least some styling skill. A curling iron will give you curls, but only a practiced hand gets soft waves instead of ringlets or some other sort of curl formation, and you just can’t get enough curl from most curling irons, no matter how sloped their edges. .
Enter the Body Waver by T3 $149.00. This impressive looking, heated, barrel styler, gives you a can’t-mess-it-up head of soft waves, in minutes. It’s a new type of curling tool, with a hollow barrel design, that lets you create the kind of loose and beachy waves you want, without having to go to a salon. The smooth, wide (1.75″) barrel with clasp lets you wrap your hair so that you get big, defined, shiny waves (not corkscrews or ringlets) that fall just right. The barrel is infused with tourmaline and ceramic to add shine and reduce frizz and the Ionic element seals the hair cuticle while it creates shine.
But that’s not all this amazing BodyWaver offers.
When I first saw this heat tool up close and personal, I honestly thought it was just another curling iron with a wide barrel. But I was wrong!
As the diagram shows, The design of the T3 BodyWaver is different. Most curling irons have heat the the middle of the barrel, but the BodyWaver has a ring of heaters that distribute heat around the entire barrel, for consistent heat. That hollow Barrel Design heats from outside of the barrel, instead of from the inside as with typical curling irons. The SinglePass Radial Technology from this ring of heaters means that you won’t over or under-heat your hair, thereby minimizing damage. There are five temperature settings up to 410° F and a lacy, silver “collar” keeps the iron from burning the surface of your dressing table or whatever place you put it. If you forget to turn it off (I admit to doing this more times than I should have), the iron will turn itself off in a hour. Bulky controls are replaced with an elegant, silver dial you twist at the end of the iron, which lets you dial up the temperature setting you want (consult the instruction book to know which of the little, lighted dots correspond to a specific temperature). The handle is slim, and a long (9 foot) swivel cord lets you move the iron around without getting tangled in it. The iron is lightweight, so you don’t tire too easily when doing more than just a few, face-framing waves.
As I said previously, initially, I honestly thought this would just be another wide barrel curling iron that would give me the kind of waves or curls that usually sent me running for a headband or a ponytail holder to get rid of them. I cautiously fired up the T3 BodyWaver, sectioned a piece of hair, waited about 30 seconds, and released it. I couldn’t quite believe it when I saw a perfectly waved section that looked just like the red carpet look I love. I did another piece…same result. It took me only minutes, really, to finish waving my thick hair. I figured it was beginner’s luck, so the next time I tried it I was waiting for disappointment. But my hair still looked good! Now, the T3 BodyWaver is my new BHTF (best heat tool friend) and my curling iron and flat irons are lonely for attention. SinglePass Radial Technology doesn’t sound pretty, but the result you get with the BodyWaver by T3, definitely is!
At a little under $150 it’s not inexpensive, but it delivers. There is a two-year warranty that gives the user comprehensive coverage, telephone support, and repair options, too.
Like the BodyWaver the T3 2 Tourmaline dryer ($200.00) and the Luxe 2i Dryer ($250.00) look elegant and high tech, before you even plug them in and use them. But for all it’s high tech bells & whistles, it is a simple and user-friendly dryer with 3 heat settings, two speeds, and a cool shot button all where you’d expect them to be, on the handle and at neck of the nozzle. There is also a nozzle attachment (tourmaline infused concentrator) that comes with the unit, but if you want a curl diffuser, that’s an optional purchase. The dryer isn’t quiet, but it is ergonomically designed, and lightweight
Powered by proprietary T3 Tourmaline® and advanced SoftAire™ technology, the Featherweight 2 is clinically proven to be healthier than air drying and to dry your hair faster – retaining moisture for smooth, shiny, frizz-free results. With a sleek new design inspired by fashion trends, an ergonomic, tilted handle and weight balanced shape, the Featherweight 2 is attractive.
But does it do the job?
The answer is absolutely YES! This isn’t a wimpy dryer. It dried my hair so fast I barely believed it, until I repeated the test over and over again. T3 also claims the following: a 73% Reduction in Frizz; 86% Increase in Body; 19% Increase in Shine; 33% Increase in Comb-ability; 48% Increase in Style Retention.
While I can’t quantify these stats, I can say that my hair was soft, shiny, not frizzy and of course DRY. And here’s how T3 does it:
Regular dryers use a hurricane-like airflow that causes damage, frizz and flyaways (and can take patience to get your hair really dry). The T3 Featherweight Dryers work differently, drying hair in an average of just 7 minutes while improving its health and appearance (and yes, it really does). T3’s advanced SoftAire Technology generates a greater volume of air and weaves it through the dryer at the ideal heat and speed. The ion-enriched air then exits the dryer in a wide cone shape that dries larger sections of hair at a time, faster and healthier. For those not familiar with the greatness of tourmaline, when heated, it emits negative ions and healthy infrared heat. Negative ions speed up drying by breaking water droplets into smaller molecules that are absorbed into the cuticle, retaining healthy moisture. At the same time, they cancel static and seal the cuticle, reducing frizz and enhancing shine.
According to T3, they have a proprietary Tourmaline infusion process that takes high quality gemstones and crushes them into a fine powder that is infused into the internal dryer components. Unlike other dryers that have just a spray coating of Tourmaline that wears off, the hair benefits of the T3 last the lifetime of the product, and, these wonderful dryers deliver a large, perfectly even cone of heat that accelerates drying process even further.
The Bells & Whistles: 2 Speeds & 3 Heat Settings; Cool Shot; Tourmaline Concentrator: (directs enriched airflow for faster, healthier, more precise drying); Ergonomic Handle; Long Life professional level motor; 9ft Cord with Cord Wrap; Lightweight; 2 Year Warranty.
T3 is an investment and perhaps to some, a luxury, but these hair tools will pay beauty dividends for years to come. For more information visit the T3 Website: http://www.t3micro.com/
