Everyone has had a few, bad days. You can’t go through life looking, or feeling, perfect all the time, unless you are truly super-human, or have a “staff” that runs after you, celebrity style, to fix you up when you’re “fading.” The Advice Sisters can’t do much to help you with a bad day (other than come over with virtual ice-cream and two spoons), but I can offer up some general and relationship advice on my website. Conair 's YOU Wrap & Wave is versatile and fun to use!
Hair that’s flat? There’s a cure for that! The YOU Wrap & Wave Tourmaline Ceramic Styler (SRP. $39.99) gives you curls just about any way you want them and literally, in seconds. How cool is that?! A two pronged, fork-like curling iron heats up from 310 to 400 degrees, fast, to give you natural waves, oval waves, or tighter, spiral curls. It all depends upon how you wrap your hair around the barrel(s). It is simple to use with easy to access controls, but you need to work fast (all that is needed for most curls is under 15 seconds) and you need to experiment with your hair and see how much or little time and wrapping you want. But once you’ve got it down, it’s actually fun to use. The tourmaline technology helps hair stay shiny and less frizzy, and the no-clamp design means you won’t get tell-tale crimps in your curls. The one thing I’d caution is that you really need to use the weird looking (but helpful) three-fingered heat glove when working with the YOU Wrap & Style and don’t lose your focus, because if your get your hands near a 400 degree curling iron,painful burns can happen. Living Proof has come up with some of the most innovative hair care products on the market, using high-tech formulas that inspire a bit of awe. Known for their Living Proof Anti-Frizz products, now they’ve come up with a trio of products (using their unique, moisture-controlling molecule called “PolyfluroEster), that can bring damaged hair back to the state of “virgin” hair. Hard to believe, but this RESTORE collection consists of a shampoo, conditioner and a hair masque treatment (for most this will be used twice weekly) that creates a protective layer on your hair, similar to the one you probably had on your hair as a child. Heat styling, coloring and other chemical and environmental saboteurs strip this layer away, leaving hair dull, fragile, defenseless and very porous. RESTORE increase hair’s resistance to breakage (after using the products just five times), by reducing porosity 100% and normalizing it back to what natural, healthy hair should be like. It also helps to prevent further damage. While these products can’t fix damaged hair, they can make it look and behave as if it is healthy, while protecting new hair growth so it actually is healthier. The best thing about these products is that while they do work, they don’t add heaviness back onto your hair, so you don’t have to shampoo and condition as often (as of this writing I haven’t washed my hair for three days and it still looks great). This is not only a time-saver but also a healthy thing for hair, since shampooing often continues the cycle of dryness and damage. I tried all three of the Restore products. While my hair hasn’t transformed back into the way it was when I was a child, I am still using the products, and I do see (and feel) a big difference. Definitely another awesome collection from Living Proof. The downside, if there is one, is price. The shampoo and conditioners are $28.00 each for a 8 fl. oz, bottle, and the hair masque is $42.00 for an 8 oz. jar. Used regularly, you’ll get great results, but if is going to cost you. And, if you stop using the products, the benefits will eventually fade away. However, Living Proof does sell a “Discovery Set” of 2 oz. products for $29.00 so you can see how your hair takes to the products, before you plunk down bigger dollars for the full sized items.
