Head & Shoulders Above The Rest: The Best Bargain Brand To Fight Itchy Scalp
by Alison Blackman
When we think of itchy skin, we usually think of the dry heat of Winter. But heat and humidity can also really do a number on your scalp.
In actuality, you don’t have to have the chronic flaking and itching of dandruff to develop dry scalp issues.
Once you have it, however, you can’t hide it. Scratching like a maniac and trying to hide flakes, is not a pretty look!
Head & Shoulders Is a Great Investment
Some people avoid anti-itch shampoos because they believe their hair will smell bad or feel dry.
Not so anymore!
My dad used the original Head & Shoulders and I remember the scent as very medicinal, which I didn’t love.
And There are Scent(s) That Make Sense!
So when I received the Head & Shoulders Green Apple 3Action Formula Shampoo and Conditioner test, I initially wasn’t too eager to use it.
But ever the guinea pig for Advicesisters Beauty and Style, I did have a bit of an itchy scalp, so I figured it couldn’t hurt to try it.
It has Pyrithione Zinc proven to handle dandruff issues but it does more than that:
The 3-Action formula 1) CLEANS – to remove oil and flakes, 2) PROTECTS – scalp from dandruff (1), and 3) MOISTURIZES – to keep hair soft and shiny.
The scent is that of a fresh green Granny Smith Apple. The pH balanced, gentle shampoo is gentle enough for daily use on all hair types including color or chemically treated hair.
There are other scents in the Head & Shoulders line of shampoos and conditioners as well, but I really liked this one.
If you do have dandruff or itchy scalp issues you can use this one every day and no one will ever know you used an itch-fighting shampoo…absolutely not!
This shampoo and conditioner not only smelled pleasant, it was moisturizing and kind to my hair, actually making my hair look good.
Whatever itchy I had was gone in one shampoo. For real.
No matter which formula of Head & Shoulders you choose (there are several different types) you’ll get great results.
The best part? You won’t pay fancy salon prices. The shampoos and conditioners can be easily found in drugstore and mass market retailers for under $8.00.
