A Fast Wireless Charger That Lights Up Your Desk:
Colorful Fashion Meets Tech:
When the case is swiveled open the earbuds will connect to the most recently connected device. Once charged you will get a total playtime of 32 hours or up to 8 hours of music. The Charging Case holds an additional 3 charges. Four LED lights show how much charge is left. Each light indicates 25%of the battery life. A nice touch is that the earbuds in the case can be charged on any QI charger, or with the included USB-C cable).
The multi-functional button on the Earbuds allows for an easy transition from music to managing calls, However, I did cut off a phone call when I touched it by mistake. The earbuds also support Siri and Google Assistant.
The sound is passably good. Using the advicesisters.com standard test song, Fleetwood Macs’ “The Chain” I found that the earbuds had a fairly balanced rendition on high and mid-volume, But in lower volume, the bass is not terribly robust. The earbuds are ok for music. However, While making phone calls the person I called sounded great. She said I sounded a bit muffled. Read advicesisters.com’s story How We Test Sound.
These earbuds broadcast a cool factor. Additional silicone ear tips in 3 sizes come with these earbuds so you get the right fit for every pair of ears! For more information visit the Diesel Global Website
You Are My Sunshine: iHome Wellness Clock:
What’s new in the iHome collection of products for real well-being? It’s the new iHome Zenergy Sunrise that wakes you with an increasing amount of “natural” sunlight and can lull you to sleep with light and sound. If you take a minute to listen to my little video above you’ll hear all 16 sounds. The sounds are keyed to sleeping, relaxation, and waking. There is also a soothing/calming feature called “4-7-8 breathing meditation” that fades and synchronizes with pulsing lighting effects to control your breath, lower your heart rate and soothe your body and mind so you can sleep better.
The most difficult task you’ll have with the new Zenergy Sunrise clock is which sounds and what level of light intensity you wish.
You’ve Got Rhythm:
You’ve got rhythm — a circadian rhythm, that is! Our internal body clock (circadian rhythm) uses light as an essential part of preparing the body and mind for sleeping and waking. The iHome Sunrise doesn’t jolt you out of deep sleep or disturb your rest with bright lights that you can’t turn off. If you prefer no light at all, the dual alarms will give you sounds to relax, sleep and wake. In my middle photo below you can see the controls on the back of the clock. It’s easy to set these and there are a lot of options. The instructions are fairly good. However, if you have any issues I can say that my personal experience with iHome customer service has been excellent.
There isn’t a wireless QI charger on the Zenergy Sunrise as there is on the iHome TimeBoost Glow Wireless Charging + LED Color Changing Clock (detailed below), However, there is a port for a USB cord to charge your phone. There’s also a backup battery for your clock should the power cut off.
Clearly, this sophisticated clock is more than just an alarm clock, with 5-mode light modes that utilize 230 brightness settings and 3 additional LED color modes, My photo above shows two of the light modes. There is so much more to explore.
There’s also Bluetooth audio and an intelligent clock dimmer that automatically will adjust to the room lighting. If you know someone who is an insomniac you might change their lives with this iHome clock. I found this on Amazon for just $60! Also visit the iHome website
iHome Clock with Wireless Charger & Colors:
The iHome TimeBoost Glow Wireless Charging + LED Color Changing Clock has literally the fastest wireless QI charger I have ever used. Yes, it is an alarm clock and speakerphone too. If you aren’t using QI wireless charging for your devices, there’s a USB port for charging as well. Advicesisters.com does review a lot of chargers, and some of them are really fast, But this clock with QI charger beats just about everything else. The clock features a Bluetooth speaker and a backup battery to maintain alarm settings such there be a power failure,
My first photo shows you the color transition from purple to red however the colors fade into blue, green yellow red, purple. You can pick one color, or use the “nite” setting to make it a nightlight or choose no color at all (only a subtle black screen with white numbers and date will show).
More To Love:
The speakerphone feature has eco noise cancellation, dual alarms, and a dimmer to make the clock automatically dim and brighten on a daily basis. The LED numbers showing the time are large and easy to see, Both alarms are also visible on the front so you can remember if you’ve set them, No one wants to be awakened at the wrong time due to an alarm you forgot to turn off.
Other features include snooze, brightness level, play.pause/hands-free speakerphone volume, wake to light/wake to tone, Bluetooth pairing. And it’s easy to switch to daylight savings time too with a simple switch! And that’s not all — the clock features voice control for SIRI or Google Assistant. I actually called a friend using this feature. and it worked well. The sound quality was excellent and the speakerphone is super easy to use.
Tote-able Tech in an OWC Small Travel Dock:
The OWC (Other World Computing) USB-C Travel Dock is amazing. It has lots of slots. There’s a USB 3.1, HDMI, SD Card, and 100W Power Pass-Throu
gh. It’s a purse or pocket-sized powerhouse of well…power! But what I like so much about this particular unit is that it’s not just a straight charger, It also has an SD card slot for your computer or camera. Since it’s likely if you need to access documents you’ll need an SD card from your camera, not having to bring yet another piece of equipment when you travel makes this truly all-purpose.
I don’t want to get too technical. But the OWC USB-C Travel Dock is also fully compatible with Thunderbolt 3 equipped Macs and PCs as well as iOS, Android, and Chrome OS devices. You can connect directly through a Thunderbolt 3 port on a computer or Thunderbolt 3 device. The USB-C Travel Dock can be used via bus power when you don’t have access to a power outlet. Therefore, you can also use your laptop USB-C adapter to deliver up to 100W of pass-through power. Then use the open port on your computer to connect another device. You can also pass through the power to another device with the small cord on the back of the travel dock.
This travel dock is one of the tech treats I love because it does a lot for a small price. The top is smooth but it’s not a QI charger which would make it tops for me. Still, it’s a cool little dock that lets you bring a lot of productivity with you in one small square box. I found it on amazon ($55).
Better “Smart” Brushing From Oral-B
The Oral-B GeniusX 10000 ($219) is a Bluetooth “smart” toothbrush that (with an app on your phone) can learn your brushing goals. It will help you maximize your brushing style by “coaching” you to use the right pressure and the right time. Even without the app, it’s got 6 cleaning options, a 2-minute timer, gum pressure control, a round head (cleanses and can polish every tooth), and up to 2 weeks of battery life.
This particular tech treat comes with 3 color-coded brush heads. Of course, you can get replacement heads (dentists recommend replacing toothbrushes every 3 months). A plug-in charging stand is included plus a hard-sided travel case that can also charge your brush when you’re on the road and don’t want to take the charging stand. The 360 SmartRing with LED lights allows you to personalize your brushing experience with your choice of colors for different modes.
The Oral-B App
I don’t usually take my phone into the bathroom so the app is less of a draw, But if you use it regularly you can improve your daily brushing habits, and get real-time feedback. It’s a motivational tool, It would be great for anyone who is always “rushed” and really doesn’t brush properly. Actually, it’s just a great toothbrush with lots of bells and whistles from cleaning to polishing to sensitivity to tongue cleaning and more, The Oral-B GeniusX is high on my list of tech treats! Visit the Oral-B website to learn more and find it in many places including Amazon (srp. $199/sale $149)
