When the weather warms up and the days get longer, one of the sure signs that we’re on our way to a great Summer, is the tender shoots of new, green grass, along with the first flowers, breaking through the Winter dirt. That color is full of hope and cheer. Among the scented goodies, there’s Slatkin & Co.’s Bloom Collection.
Slatkin’s scents are always exciting because they smell authentic. And the presentations are pleasing. One of the candles in the collection is called Green Grass. It is big (14.5 oz with three wicks) in a clear, round glass votive with a shiny, silver top. The scent is so exciting because it truly captures the scent of freshness and renewal, reminiscent of new grass.
The scent of this candle immediately brings a newly-mown lawn to mind, but the dewy greens are blended with Meyer lemon (for a hint of tartness) and the romantic scent of delicate Lily-of-the-Valley, plus just a hint of jasmine. The result is a candle that not only looks and smells good, but can actually freshen your home environment so it smells like you’ve just done some “Spring cleaning” and brought in bouquets of flowers. The scent will appeal to men as well as women, and would make a nice and inexpensive wedding shower gift, or a gift for your weekend hostess.
Luckily, although this 3-wick candle is large and impressive, it’s just $19.50 and available now at Bath & Body Works Stores nationwide and www.bathandbodyworks.com .
Although I didn’t “smell-test” them, the other scents in the Slatkin Bloom Collection are : “Spring” (notes of sweet apple blossoms, yellow daisies and daffodils); and “Drenched Apple Flower” )notes of crisp Fuji apples with rain-soaked greens and pink lotus blossom).
You’ll want to get several of the exceptional candles, for gifts (and be sure to keep one for yourself).
